A prime Kostya Tszyu at 140 would have wiped the floor with Cotto

At 140, a prime Zoo KO's Cotto. Cotto was too weight drained at 140 to really say he could have beaten a prime Zoo. If Torres had Cotto in BIG trouble at 140, a prime Zoo puts him to sleep. 147 and above is a different story for a different thread.

How soon we forgot.I know every fighter has bad nights and styles make fights, but Kostya was ko'd by Vince Phillips.Kostya was very good, but we might be overrating him a bit.No way in hell Vince Phillips was better than Cotto. And despite the weight drain thing,Cotto never lost at 140.

Kostya would've KO'd Cotto, Cotto would've been competitive for at least a couple rounds though.

Call me crazy but I dont think Tzyu would have managed to hit Cotto with as many bombs as Torres did and Torres is a hell of a puncher and can actually punch with both hands. Cotto by late KO as Kostya's body gives up on him.

spot on! tecniclly zoo was a master at delivering maximum power into his tecnique and to say cotto an early rd loser at the olympics was a better technical boxer than the world amatuer champion zoo in either ams or pro is laughable.
both boxers have their flaws as every other boxer has and in my opinion zoo's hand speed, co ordination and pint point accuracy at 140 would secure him a win.

    At 140? Absolutely.

There's about five fighters all time at 140 who would've handled an in his prime focused Kostya and Cotto isn't one of them.

I think Cotto would stop Tszyu, I think Kosta was very, very good but Cotto would batter him.

I dont see nothing wrong with that statement. Cotto was a decent 140 fighter whereas Tzyue is ATG at that weight class. Now if Cotto were allowed to come in at 147 then it would be a different story.

At 147 I agree. At 140 Cotto was weight drained, shaky chinned and deprived of big fight stamina. Tszyu would probably KO him.

Anyone ever seen Tszyu beating Roy Jones in the amateurs? Tszyu was awesome, so quick.

140, it doesnt matter if Cotto were weight drained or not, Kostya would stop him late, thats for sure.

Cotto's chin would have failed him against Zoo. Great fight though while it lasted.
