Lloyd at his peak was explosive in a Tyson sense. His peak was short as he become 'shot' early. However at his peak he would have taken either out
The Honeyghan that took out Curry would have too much pressure and power for Leoanrd and stop him late. As for Floyd I think Honey would be able to walk through that shoulder defence blast him away early, just as he did to Gene hatcher.
:shock:shame on you if you don't know! 2nd biggest upset in british boxing history! Lloyd gets too much credit for the Curry win. GREAT fight and his 2(?) defense after showed he was an animal but Curry was weight drained and dead tired and his subsequent opposition wasn't the best. When he stepped it up/was shot, he lost to Breland and Starling. Good fighter, not great and not on SRL or PBF's level. SRL would have stopped him late, PBF potshotted and run like hell to a UD.
First of all,I just to get one thing straight.I hate,HATE Sugar Ray Leonard. However,as much as I hate him,I must give him credit as he is the best 147 pounder I've seen in my lifetime(I'm 47).And I liked Lloyd Honeyghan.Tough fighter, explosive, but there is nothing in his resume or his performances that would indicate that he would ever beat Leonard-or even a masterboxer, even though infinitely dislikable,Floyd Mayweather.I saw Lloyd many times and he was good, not great.Because he knocked out Donald Curry, another good, not great fighter, that doesn't mean he's going to beat Leonard or Mayweather, both superior to Curry.
LOL. What a funny thread. Leonard woulda blasted Honeyghan away within 6, and Floyd would have clearly UD'd him.
He'll get killed by both. Although Floyd wouldnt KO him itll be a domination. Honeyghans claim to fame was beating a weight drained Curry. And yes Currys a very good fighter but Floyd edges him as well in my opinion
