Robin Reid was a quality boxer in his day and I think he's getting a little underrated here. However, I pretty much have most of that list beating him if it was prime for prime, but possibly Reid beats Woodhall & Froch (I find them a close call).
That said, he would have pushed them all, at his best he was no walk in the park for anybody.

The Calzaghe fight was close, and though I had Calzaghe winning that one, I can accept an arguement for Reid without too much objection. And if that version of Calzaghe & Reid were to box 10 times, I would tip Reid to at least gain a couple of victories. However, seeing as we're talking "prime for prime", I do not believe Joe had reached his peak at that point (2006-07 for me was Calzaghe's best - Lacy & Kessler performances). The Calzaghe that beat Lacy & Kessler beats any version of Reid in my opinion.

Depends what Reid turns up, he could have real good nights and off nights.
If he was having one of his off nights he loses all of them, but if hes on one of his good nights

Benn - due to Reids good counter punch style it becomes a hard fight for both with Reid losing closely on points

Watson - Reid wins a tight decision

Eubank - beats Reid on points. Reid not coming forward and wanting to fight off the back foot loses him the fight as Eubank goes in and out of range and out boxes him

Collins - Beats Reid in a hard fight, but Collins pressure and aggresion just edges it for him, for a close points win

Woodhall - Reid by late KO whilst ahead on points

Calzaghe - Well we saw what happend when they fought, but remember Joe broke his hand and still won. Odd SD was scored with all 3 judges scoring it a 5 point lead, but all the studio guests had Joe a 5 point winner also. I felt it was clear for Joe who took alot of big shots flush. Always felt the commentary swayed opinions with McCrory scoring a draw and giving Reid the last round, a round which Joe clearly outboxed Reid in.
So I think Calzaghe wins a clear UD, in a hard fight

Froch - gets caught with many flush shots off Reid, but fights back hard. Close fight. Not a confident guess but i'll say Froch, but its too close for comfort

Benn due to his better hand speed, better power , greater variety, better work ethic and greater experience overcomes a couple of rocky moments to win a late stoppage.

Eubank beats Reid with his jab and right hand all night, Reid lands occasionally with a bomb and Chris shrugs it off.

Watson thoroughly outboxes Reid and with his tight defence and above average power grinds him down and beats him badly down the stretch.

Collins is better in every department, and i cannot see Reid doing anything other than losing a war.

Woodhall is Reids best chance at a win, but i think stylistically he would cause Reid problems. Reid had a poor output in a lot of his fights and this may go against him.

Calzaghe just beats him every time.

Froch beat Pascal, who is way better than Reid and beats Reid in a similar styled fight.

You cans see from Froch - Reid that a younger Reid takes a prime for prime fight easily.

    thats my thoughts kinda.

reid was shot years ago with a butchering against lacy and an absolutly dissmal performance on the UK VS US contender. and still reid was able to do some effective work against froch.

pascal doesnt fight like reid. pascal fights like roy jones if anything, reid is short but puts together sturdy 1-2's while able to roll and land the counter. his lead right hand is a beuty. pascal looks for the lead left hook and doesnt shuffle or look to counter ,jumps in and lets loose.

reid loses to almost all of them woodhall might be the most sure bet for a reid victory. but froch looks to be the next. poor defence not much movement looks to throw leads someone with good textbook skills should be able to catch him coming in. i dunno but froch did beat him up pretty badly so is might be a rerun.

reid - benn is the most interesting. i think reid could give benn some scary moments

Pascal most definitely did NOT fight like Roy Jones in his fight with Froch.

I see Froch's toughness causing less problems for Reid than Woodhall's reasonable boxing abilities even.

Either way though, people are only going to remember the remarkably shot Reid of more recent years (or his famed inconsistancy of earlier years) and refuse to agree.

Others simply refuse to pick a pretty boy over their hero Froch.

    Exactly.

That fight is how i envisage a Froch V Reid fight to be , a war. I cannot imagine Reid doing more than Pascal, so go for Froch.

Why on earth is Pascal being rated more highly than Reid?

Reid would stop Froch (most likely ref stepping in to save Carl), with numerous easy to land right hands.

Pascal as a measuring stick? Those Froch - Pascal were hilarious, both of them gassing at the half way point, neither displaying anything at all in the way of defence.

If a fight is as exciting as those, it is because the two fighters are not in Reid's league and have no defence.

Who do you think Reid beat that was as good as Pascal or Froch ? Then look at the guys who beat him and say could they beat Froch ?

Dirrell, Pascal and Taylor are all as good as Reid albeit in different ways.

Kessler is way better than Reid.

Just watching this you know you are dealing with a higher class of athlete to Froch, no explanation needed really.

Then this is comical in comparison.

    Reid dominated Sven Ottke.

In that super six, only Andre Ward is better than a prime Reid. But then Ward is probably the second best at the weight ever and a future top-tier legend in the Robinson, Leonard, Duran, Calzaghe type mold.
