Bogdan Dinu, he's a heavyweight contender from Romania. He caught my eye last year when he looked very capable in knocking out a decent trial horse in 1 round. After being impressed with him in that instance I watched a couple more of his fights on the Tube, and he looks like a decent Contender IMO. Quick and physically strong firstly, he's got a good jab (which he can hook off) holds himself well (good stance and posture), has good footwork and can punch. He's one of the most complete Heavyweight prospects around today, he seems to be the full package from what I've see. He doesn't fight anywhere near as often as he should though, which is a massive shame because I reckon he can make a splash in the division.

Anyone have any opinions on him? How far can he go, who can he beat etc...?

He reminds of of a much more refined Artur Szpilka.

He looks very decent, for all the talk of the yanks up and comers this guy looks capable. Like his aggression when he throws his punches he wants to stop his man and like the little set ups with left hand.

    :good

He'd already beat the fringey's IMO. The likes of Franklin Lawrence, Bermane Stiverne and Alex Ustinov, who are all crap but reasonably highly rated. He has the potential to be better than the decent contenders (Pulev and Boystov) I reckon.

Yep i'd got along with that, shows my lack of knowledge on HW's when i didn't know he beat them lads . I liked that he has a solid base, was able to throw punches short, medium and long and did correct things. I've watched Pulev and Boystov and neither have impressed me greatly.

I'll keep a eye out for this lad but if managed correctly from here on in he could well go on to big things.

Throws punches with spite and I like his double left hook. One to watch.

    Good observations.

He started his career in 08 and he's only 8-0 which is pretty poor, plus he only fought once last year. If he was some mediocre-ly skilled destined to be fringe contender material then I wouldn't be concerned, but he's genuinely pretty good and I feel he has a future in the division if he's active.

The only contenders I consider to have the same potential are Mike Perez and Amir Mansour.

We talked about this guy on the Eruopean forum. Apparently, he has problems stemming from his amatuer days when he was a satar but was caught shoplifitng and banned. Since then, he joined the special forces and only boxes as a part time thing.

He would like to box more, but its not in the cards.

    POST SCRIPT:

    From our friend Beastsideboxing:

Bogdan Dinu- Quick hands Quick on his feets, he got real potential. But he isn't helped by anybody, theres no money in boxing for him.
In an interview before the Bute-Mendy undercard he said: "I don't know anything certain about my future. Could be a long lay of again because of the lack of money, but I hope the sun will shine on my street to. I want to foght more often, once at a few monts distance, right now I didn't had one for a year and in boxing you can feel this. If you don't have continuity in the ring it all for nothing."
Right now boxing isn't where he get's the money to put food on his table. You can't do that with 1 fight a year. He's in the Special Forces For Interventions and Actions (Romanian: S.I.A.S). Unless someone comes and invest in him, and give him a future in boxing Dinu will be a wast of talent. Don't think he's preparation is as good as it should be for a young pro who try to discover his own style, and polish it bit by bit into something solid.

Seems a bit mad being in the Special Forces and a boxer. Unless their Special
    forces is like our T.A.
