I agree that there are some "if's" in there and it's not a given that either guy will go on to glittering careers. All I'm saying is that it isn't out of the question either as many fighters reach their prime around 30 when experience and natural ability intersect for a short while. Canelo in this fight showed me some things I didn't think he could do - if he puts it all together in the NeXT few years (and yes, it's an IF) he could be an elite guy. Trout needs to do more with his powershots - that's workable.

 

I completely agree. I actually found the fight a bit boring. Certainly underwhelming.

I was a bit impressed with Canelo's defense, though. - But it seemed more "showboaty" than practical.

 

I say clearly cause I had it 7-5 canelo plus 1 pt for the kd. So yeah 3 pts is pretty clear to me. Just my opinion. Trout was no slouch tho.

 

There's no one at 154 that would beat either of these guys outside of Mayweather moving back up. Lara would have the best chance but doubt he'd win. They're the cream of the current crop like or not. Molina might give them a bit of trouble cause of his smothering style that no one can look good against but there's no way he'd beat either guy. Maybe Booboo Andrade in a year or 2 if he ever steps it up might challenge one of them.

You show one clip of Canelo slipping 4 punches in 3 seconds of a 12 round fight and I suppose that means he wasn't outlanded, out punched and was controlled and made to fight Trout's fight for the majority of the fight...lol boy YDKSAB!

By the way Trout looked like **** and didn't deserve to win, Elite? Just because you're the best in your division doesn't make you elite, K9 Bundrage was a champion at this weight also, next you'll be telling me the Dog is elite...

Trout is no better than Cory Spinx was at the height of his Career, Austin will not accomplish **** and Canelo won't beat anyone elite at any weight class...

 

What? Man please...I'd pick Angulo, Vanes, Lara and Andrade to beat Trout right now...just my opinion of course but I feel extremely strong about it, I've never seen anything remotely special about Trout and although I give him credit for beating a smaller, sluggish looking, shopworn Cotto who lost his previous fight, it wasnt a big accomplishment, I swear Austin is just an ever so slightly above average fighter...

As for Canelo I think he could beat Angulo but he'd lose to Vanes, Erislandy and even Andrade at this point, my honest opinion, even Molina would out fight Canelo but get robbed on the cards...Canelo is good he's solid but he's very beatable...

prime spinks was just shy of elite and that's a fine level. there's no one other than Boboo Andrade on the 154 horion that presents any big danger to either Alvarez or Trout now at 160 I think GGG, Martinez both def beat them and there's a few others that would be good fights for them like the bri trio of Barker, Macklin and Murray or Pirog.
