Rewinding to watch Flaz vs. Hernández with my full attention, now that Bimbito is being interviewed at length ringside.

The first was just a bit shy of 10-9 Flaz even without a KD. Very much one-way traffic however. La Roca offered reasonably sound defense and plenty of return fire, but was just worked over with body & head combos from mid-range and forced onto the backfoot early & often.

Flaz just shattered the guard with every uppercut he threw in the second, and then set to work dismantling Hernández further with each salvo.

That one has a very strong case for 10-8 despite the want of a knockdown.

...and yeah, some confusion as to whether it was RTD2 or TKO3, as he got up off his stool and the bell rang and then his corner signaled the ref to say they were pulling him. So.. :nusenuse:

It's very reminiscent of themes you'd hear while watching 80's wrestling shows. That's not a bad thing.

Let's see if Matemático is able to salvage a bit of momentum for the Núñez clan (after Científico was KTFO by Gervonta Davis in July) as 2019 winds down...

    Round 1

Arrieta is raking the left hook across Núñez's sides and using in & out movement to deny him a direct firefight in the pocket, much as Núñez is telegraphing his intentions to force one. Arrieta bends his neck, face pointing at the canvas, writhing his torso inward at diagonals to either side and lathering up from shoeshines on the belt line to big reach-around hooks in the ribs and finally hard pecking jabs on the face of Núñez while spiraling out to reset. Núñez looking a touch slower and reacting just a beat too late to everything Arrieta does, but does catch him with at least one glancing 1-2 putting him on notice.

    10-9 Arrieta

    Round 2

Núñez ratchets up the aggression, which nets him some cleaner blows scoring but also puts him in danger of a full-on glass-cannon implosion as his attacks have been scouted by Arrieta, who is timing him with big counters, hurting Núñez badly several times. Núñez always recovers, but is desperate to prove himself just as capable of hurting Arrieta, marching forward and slinging 1-2s, only to be caught at the whipping gator's-tail end of a long Arrieta left hook and shaken up yet again. Whenever he staggers Núñez back a step, Arrieta jumps in and piles on points on the body.

    10-9 Arrieta

    20-18 Arrieta

    Round 3

Núñez is going all out! Rushes across the ring and batters Arrieta into the ropes with some quick powerful right hands. Arrieta weathers the storm and begins to work those hefty left hooks into Núñez's flanks after bracing up against him with a bumper-cars slam of his own vertically bundled forearms against Núñez's. The pace slows, advantage to Arrieta, lying at medium-long range and picking off Núñez with jabs up top and hooks below. Núñez tries answering in kind, but Arrieta is covering up well, dropping his elbows just above his waistband and hunching forward to exchange. A few minor clinches. Núñez finishes the round jousting forth with his jab.

    10-9 Arrieta, closer

    30-27 Arrieta

    Round 4

Another strong opening from Núñez, who is spearing rights up into the hairline of Arrieta, then walking him down and plunging hard body jabs down from a peekaboo. Arrieta seems to be gathering his wind this round, barely any offense mustered a minute in. Plenty of slaps on the sides from Núñez as they circle in close. Núñez rattles some jabs off Arrieta's parrying left glove, then bashes down with a right hand. Clinch by Arrieta. Núñez cuts the ring off and drills Arrieta with a straight right in the stomach. Arrieta begins to wrestle Núñez in the middle of the ring, picking him nearly up off his feet while dragging him near the ropes. Núñez is shimmying & slinking loose and then sprinkling in body shots, before circling wide again behind the pecking jab into the guard to lull Arrieta followed by heavy rights.

    10-9 Núñez

    39-37 Arrieta

    Round 5

Núñez is staying in front of Arrieta, not letting him establish the distance he craves, forcing him to stand and trade and getting the last punch in each time, usually with a punctuating right cross. Arrieta is creeping away, peering between his lightly spread arms, pumping jabs on the backfoot. Núñez is pressuring behind the jab, occasionally launching a high right hand making Arrieta duck in to attempt to clinch, sometimes more successfully than others as Núñez has prepared a downward-spiked right hand for these occasions. Núñez eating some counter jabs when Arrieta jumps into him, but quickly resumes pushing forward behind his own jab.

    10-9 Núñez

    48-47 Arrieta

    Round 6

Núñez is leaping in, getting stayed by Arrieta couner flurries. Arrieta now has big streaks of blood oozing down from what appears to be his left earlobe, strange...from Núñez's glove laces perhaps? Some fiery exchanges in the middle of the ring. Núñez keeping up a tight guard as he sallies inside, but dropping it when he tees off, and having to swallow many of the resultant grenades Arrieta keeps tossing (literally) down his throat. Arrieta doing well in spurts but the cut seems to bother him, as he's seeking to disengage as often as possible.

    10-9 Núñez, super close

    57-57

The slow motion replay seemed to show Arrieta ducking a Núñez right, grabbing him around the waist, and maybe getting his ear rubbed violently (but accidentally) by Núñez's inner right arm during the ref-ordered separation? That seems to be what the blood is from. :nusenuse:
