Aragón can't get past the jab, and when he does they become enmeshed in a violent writhing tangle until separated. Méndez also getting in some left uppercuts on the body as they clang together.

OH FUCK! Méndez dropped hard with just a few seconds on the clock from a looping right & left hook combo, teetered on the sole of his foot a moment before dropping on a slight delay. Up, looking stunned, and saved by the bell.

    10-8 Aragón

    38-37 Méndez

That was insane, came from NOWHERE. Méndez had dominated for three rounds and two-and-a-half minutes until that point.

Méndez boxing very carefully now, squatting and reaching across the ring with a long right jab on the body. Aragón thumping his chest as if to say, "come on let's fight! :ibutt" - and nothing doing. The champ is literally hopping (both feet peeling off the canvas) away like a cricket every time Aragón draws near. Aragón is hurt in the final half-minute, with Méndez finding a home for a series of vicious right hooks under the floating rib and drilling a straight left into the face to keep his attention diverted from defending against them.

    10-9 Méndez

Nice turnaround after the disastrous fourth.

He was thinking too much about the US debut of TBE and lost focus. Looks like hes alright for now though.

    Round 6

Méndez is still ripping those hellish right hooks on the body. Aragón not handling them well, cowed against the ropes, appearing to wilt. Aragón wedges his face into Méndez's armpit to smother the right hook, and gets lumped with the left hand on the body instead. Méndez relentlessly swarming. Aragón comes away from an inside melee with a nasty cut on his left eye, but the replay shows no headbutt and I don't think it was ruled as one by the ref - so if stopped on the basis of the cut it would be a TKO. Ringside physician is called onto the apron for a long examination before green-lighting time-in. Aragón is clinching and bashing up top with his free right hand, throwing Hail Mary haymakers blindly in the vicinity of Méndez's head in the hopes that something will stick. Aragón feisty, pressing forward despite the cut and the round now being all but academic. Méndez forced to flurry to hold ground all the way.

    10-9 Méndez

    58-55 Méndez

The replay they showed to help clarify how the cut happened was extremely confusing lol. Seems like maybe a simple jab did it, but kind of hard to tell since it was such pandemonium inside during that sequence

I literally just realized/remembered this was a rematch. (+ edited the RBR title accordingly)

Méndez defeated Aragón via wide UD in a 10-rounder for the WBO NABO minimumweight belt thirteen months ago. Zero knockdowns in that one.

Definitely no head contact from what I could tell, anyway. :nusenuse:

Pretty sure this is officially a TKO in the books...

The ref has waved it off due to Aragón's cut pouring into his eye.

I'm like 99% sure that means the champ retains via TKO.

The only thing Aragon’s head potentially contacted was Mendez’s shorts but I don’t think there’s anyway he got cut like that unless Mendez’s shorts are secretly razor sharp lol

I suppose if you rammed into a protective cup/jockstrap hard enough (at just the right angle) it could draw blood? :nusenuse:

Maybe, or one of the flaps could’ve potentially cut him if he caught it at an angle but I still think it’s kind of doubtful. I’m not sure what they’ve seen that caused them to rule this a cut from an accident
