before the cleverly fight i was one of the brigade who said he was over-rated.

he was absolutely sensational tonight.....and mcintosh was a lot better than jim watt gave him credit for.

he conducted himself like a champ too, and gave a great interview after the fight.

    i'm a fan now.

tony, if you read this..i'm sorry..i was very wrong...i wish you well.

Tony was good in there tonight and produced a great performance, however McIntosh was a real disappointment and I think that counted for part of the reason for Bellew looking so good

Great performance by Bellew. Getting better with every fight in my opinion! Who next for him though? Realistically!

Will you also apologise for thinking that Tom Dallas might be good?

    true...i did :)

i can't joke about dallas though....sad story that....watching him against skelton was proper sad, he wanted to get beat up that night.

i'm doing a pretty good job of following boxing all my life, and still not having a clue what a good boxer looks like.

I agree he looked like a man who wanted a reason to stop boxing I am amazed he is fighting again.

As for spotting a good boxer I'm useless I thought Paul Williams was the reincarnation of Tommy Hearns:patsch.Even further back I sparred a guy called Brian Shumacher who was captain(I think) of the UK boxing team at the 84 Olympics and lost to Virgil Hill I was convinced he would be great but no ended up losing his last 5 fights.

Beat the **** out of me though:!:

Thought the Cleverly display would of got apologies, fair play though Doug.

Tony will win a world title in 18 months IMO.

If he continues at the rate he is I agree, the starting point was the rematch with Mckenzie, that was a big fight for him, and yes it was boring but Bellew boxed him instead of trying to swing with him, it showed another part of his arsenal.
That's why before the Cleverly fight I had a feeling Tony might win, I have only ever seen Cleverly fight one way and a decent technician will always give him trouble, a world class one bangs him out, which Bellew may become? the signs are good.

I hope he wins a world title too but I can't see where he's gonna get his shot? It looks inevitable he's leaving fw to join coldwell or matchroom so that puts cleverly out of the equation IMO. I'm not sure of his ranking but if he can get the euro belt off guttneckt (which he should) then that would be a good start. Tony is 29 remember and is HUGE for the weight

Well done for making this thread, I'm sure Tony Bellew can now rest easy knowing that doug.ie has become a believer.
