If just half of those losses were wins I'd rank him up there with Ray Leonard or maybe one step below. You are talking about some bad asses he lost too.
Top 10 (probably higher) His resume would have included Whitaker, Chavez (2), Hopkins, Mayweather, Trinidad, Mosley (2), Quartey, Hernandez, Vargas, Camacho, Molina, Leija, Ruelas, Gonzalez, Mayorga, Gatti, Carr, Sturm, and quite a bit of other ranked fighters/former champions. And then factor in titles at 6 different weight classes.
Top10, especially because of the wins over Hopkins and Mayweather. I judge the fight against Tito as a win for Oscar.
The Hopkins would have been impressive for sure but an official win over Trinidad would have been incredible because Oscar and Tito will always be tied in history. When you think of one you automatically think of the other.
Well, beating a ATG WW in Tito, a class WW in Mosley (i dont think the Mosley win at 154 is much to be honest), one of the greatest fighters/MWs ever in B-Hop, and then one of the very best in Mayweather - that makes anyone an absolute legend of the highest order!!! Seriously though, that would be amazin', asking too much that though! For the record, i give him the Trinidad fight, and the second Mosley decision was a joke imo, but like i said, for me , Mosley at 154 aint a great win as he's not accomplished there except from a gift decision over Oscar.
If that's the case, we should all ask God(or whoever you are praying to) why someone was much more blessed than others. Imagine, moviestar looks, business tycoon, lastly, a great fighter who has beaten everyone he faced. It's just unfair. Luckily he didn't.
