You mean a 40 year old and 20 pounds heavier Fragomeni, right?

BTW I really doubt Erdei will start milking the WBO belt again. Universum is in no position to continue their usual strategy.

#1 v. #2 establishes lineage when its lost..#1 v. #3 in special circumstances. that is all.

    Says who??

All in all the "lineal title" is a bull**** dump.

It all falls back to the same premise.

The fighter I like isn't possibly the best in his division, but he beat a guy who beat a guy who replace a vacated championship, so I will declare him the "lineal" champ in an attempt to give him more credit, or discredit the better fighter.

There have been 5 different posts on how to create a NEW lineal champion all using different standards. That's how bull**** it is.

So keep up the facade to prop up some bull**** fighters, but history bears itself out. History will remember Jones Tarver hopkins and Calzaghes as the top lt heaavies. Not Erdie.

    Who vacated the belt??

Lineal means being able to draw a line from one point to another. You can't draw a line from ANY current heavywieght back to Michael Spinks.

You can go ahead and make up a different criteria to fit your agenda, but that doesn't make it true.

    Uh, really?

Roy Jones won the title in 1996 from Mike Mccallum. Lost it and regained in 1997.

    Rocco beat Nunn in 1998.

When did Jones lose the belt in between that time?

The fact is, Jones, talked abot moving up to heavyweight. The WBC got greedy and prepared for Jones to vacate the title and set up a fight between Nunn and Rocco. Rocco won. The WBC declared him the champion, even though they Jones had not missed a mandatory defense or vacated the title. Jones brought this up to WBC, who then changed Rocc's title to interim and ordered a fight between Jones and Rocco, as Jones had not given up the title. A fight in which Rocco backed out of. Rocco won a courtcase which seemed to suit him just fine, as he wanted no part of actually winning the title.

Those are undisputable facts, except the last line, which was my opinion.
