We hardly ever have PPV's here in Britain but the Pac vs DLH fight is PPV and this is the card for £15/$30 Some British undercard fights inc (Fraudley and Paul Smith) Nicky Cook vs ? Amir Khan vs Oisin ***an Demetrius Hopkins vs ? Victor Ortiz vs Jeffrey Resto Juan Manuel Lopez vs Sergio Manuel Medina Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar De La Hoya Alot of people on the British forum say this is a rip off but i stand this is great value, thoughts?
Look, as PPV's go, this is a good value one. Better than Khan vs. Prescott or Hatton vs. Lazcano. BUT fundamentally PPV is bad for boxing, on every level, it makes it an exclusive sport, makes it impossible for those showing an interest in becoming fans to actually become fans, because they ain't going to spend 15 quid something they are mildly interested in, so yeah, it boxing wants new fans, more money coming into the sport from mainstream places like sponsership and merchandise, more exposure in the media, then PPV is pretty much the exact opposite of what they need to be doing. PPV is stopping boxing growing, helping it to decline. Plus I don't have sky, so I couldn't watch it anyway!
The fighters have to be paid and they have to pay them somehow, my point is the fans over there will complain about this PPV then go and buy Hatton vs Malignaggi PPV for the same price which is just hypocrisy to the max.
I look at it this way ,for me whats 50 dollars ? I'll spend it somewhere else .If you really like the headline fight then shell out if not go to a bar ..I personally think the Oscar card looks enetrtaining and who doesn't want to see Manny attempt to pull of the upset ?? Your friends are just cheap
To some people 50 Dollars is a significant amount of money. So what is the point in bragging that its nothing to you? Does anyone give a ****.
Hippocracy? No not really.....alot hinges on the undercard.....Pac-DLH has decent names on the undercard but they are all fighting cabdrivers or the infamous TBD....its a **** card and not worth the money:deal
ummmm.....those are seperate cards. i assume they're seperate payments. i have 3 mates who are as into boxing as I am and if it's 15 quid we'll chuck a fiver each into the pot and the change goes to whoevers house we're at. easy.
DelaHoya PacMan's on Setanta in the UK! not Box Office. It's free to subscribers or 9.99 for the month.
Stop talking ****, its on Sky Box Office not Setanta and no flea they are seperate cards but you get both for your £14.95 :good http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12184_4422765,00.html
Yeah, it's a pretty solid card imo. You got one of the hottest prospects in Victor Ortiz fighting. You also have the emerging star in Juan Manuel Lopez in action also. Then of course the main event in DLH/Pac. Good card.
And you get the added bonus of watching china chin Khan getting sparked by some bum on the Britain side of the PPV :good
