A Question for Steve Bunce, no flame.

First let me start by saying Steve Bunce is great entertainment value and he always makes me laugh, whether im watching Boxing hour or a live Setanta broadcast of a fight. Bunce had me in stitches when he made that comment about

Chauncy Welliver. I just wish he would temper his biased sometimes.

I wish Steve Bunce would not **** all over American fighters all the while , whilst in the same breath talking up a British fighters, just because he is British. I dont understand how anyone could root for Jennings over Cotto, why? because for one.........Cotto is much more exciting, he has waay more skill. Im sorry but i just cant understand Boxing fans who would rather root for a lesser fighter over a more entertaining fighter, because he has the same nationality. They cant be a true Boxing fan, if thats the case, because Boxing is not about where you come from, its about entertainment value.

PS i can understand someone rooting for Jennings, if they are from Chorley are they are a hardcore Jennings fan or, if the hate Cotto for what ever reason, but i dont think Bunce falls into any of those catergorys from what ive heard from him.

You dont HAVE to be American or Rican to have been rooting for Cotto over Jennings last night. Im British and i have many fav American fighters as i do British.

Please Steve lay off the biased. You still the man though Steve:good

I love Cotto he's a fabulous boxer, just great but I'm British and I'll back the Brit almost all the time.Sad that Jennings lost but Cotto won it fair and square.

Unless the fighter Is someone i really dislike then I wouldn't mind seeing them lose; but there's no one i can think of off hand.

What the hell is wrong with rooting for someone who hasnt had anywhere near the success of his opponent and was basically a lamb for slaughter. This was his big chance, we were all behind him.

People, like myself, like rooting for the underdog, plus I supported Jennings because I am British.

I like Cotto, he is an exciting fighter with great skills, but I cheered for Margarito in their fight because I wanted the underdog to prevail.

Sport and entertainment are 2 different things. It just so happens that we are entertained (most of the time) by sport.

Lets be honest. As British fans do you think we would be as philosophical about the things Bunce says about American fighters, whether they be justified or not? ive been on quite of Boxing sites and in my experience, its the British posters that are more sensitive to criticism of their fighters more so than anyone else.

You would not watch, if it was boring would you? its entertaiments which ever way you look at, just because they dont put on a punch a judy show, it does not mean its not entertainment.

People pay their money, because it IS entertainment.

British boxing pundits always blow hot air up British fighters' asses. American pundits always diss British fighters. It's nothing new.

To be honest, Buncey markets himself as a "plain-speaking Boxing expert" but he doesn't ever talk straight to half the jokers in the game. David Haye comes on the Bunce hour every week shouting about how the Klitschko fight is inches away from being secured, and then we find out on ESB the next day they haven't even started negotiating. And Buncey laps it all up. Same with Froch, they were talking him up even though he hadn't done **** all, and even gave him credibility when he started saying he was better than Calslappy.

On the other hand, his knowledge is pretty immense, and he runs a good outfit. Always entertaining to watch, and he gets the best fights generally.

Anyway, all the best fights for 10 quid, I don't care who presents the thing.

Cotto is my favourite fighter and I thought I would have supported him but I always end up supporting the Brit come fight time, it was the way I was brought up I suppose. Same happened with Calzaghe, I was saying I want Jones win but when the fight was actually on I was cheering for Calzaghe even though I think he's a bit of a twat.

I agree with this. I just wish we did'nt have to listen to constant nuthuggery of a lesser fighter, because he happens to be British.

Has our lack of acknowledgment amongst American media/fans made us that insecure that we cant root for anyone else, if a Brit is fighting. The hyperbowl just continues in the sense. American fans will disrespect, when or if a British fighter fails, because he has been being talked up by Brits to be something he maybe isn't. It will never end, if thats the case.

Did anyone actually see Bunce summing up Jennings chances? He said Cotto would have had to be weight drained, scarred from the Margo fight AND have a bad night in order for the best version of Jennings to stand a chance.
