So because Bunce, in doing what he has always done, has now truly crossed the line in siding against your favorite fighter, eh? I don't think Bunce has much choice the matter, does he? That's the climate he's in. As an American I can see quite clearly that Bunce does what he can to present both sides of the coin, and it's painfully obvious how careful he has to be about doing it.

Change the whole country - then you can change Bunce. He's just a messenger.

Come on, its not because siding against your favorite fighter.

You have seen how overly sensitive British Boxing fans are on the net. Do you think they would react to the kind of things Steve says with a pinch of salt ? hell no they would be making threads about how biased he is and how he hates British fighters etc etc.

Steve Bunce is like pro wrestling.

Should be viewed for entertainment purposes only. If Steve Bunce told me the sky was blue, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I dont understand what point your making.

All im saying is, just because he broadcasts to a predominantly British audience, it does not mean every Brit is in favour of him being overly biased toward British fighters or of him bashing fighters from other countries, because they ARE NOT British.

I don't understand the point you are making.

In a nutshell Bunce said Jennings didn't have much of a chance of winning but it was possible he could win if Cotto was weight drained and affected by the Margo fight. What else do you want him to say on a British TV channel?

I actually think this is an excellent post. I had EXACTLY the same sentiments whilst watching Buncey 1) hope Miguel Cotto was weight drained. 2) Have his fingers crossed that Cotto still held psychological and physical trauma from his previous fight and 3) Denounce Cotto as a quiter. It was then i hoped Cotto would walk in and show him the meaning of quitting.

Not every Brit, just the overwhelming majority. That's enough apparently.

No that wouldnt happen. The brit forum is turning into the Kiss buncey's arse forum.
People wait in line to say what a 'legend' he is,and how 'he's the man' and all that stuff.
Have a look on the Brit forum and you'll see what i mean.
Its not Buncey's fault in any way,and i like him,its Just an observation.

I'm with Gooners on his one. Although I knew Jennings would lose the mismatch I was rooting for him by the time the fight started but that's only because he had Anarchy playing during his walk.
By and large though I root for the better, more interesting boxer, Mayweather over Hatton for example.
A boxer isn't a football team, he's not representing anybody but himself, it's not the world cup, it's not the olympics.
I'm also against national anthems being played before fights, it just leaves the fighters getting cold.

BTW A question for Americans, and there's no offence intended: Doesn't it bother you that whenever a person sings your anthem in public they massacre it so badly? I don't understand why the song can't be performed straight and with dignity instead of a Christina Aguillera impersonation every time. "Oh huh ho hoh hoh say........can you SEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIEEEEIIIEEEEEEIIIEEEEEehuhuhuhuheeeHIIIIHUUUheeeeee...." and so on. I'm amazed any of you are still alive, I would hae thought everybody would have drowned in an ocean of outraged vomit the first time someone did that.

Bunce gets a lot more **** than praise on the Brit forum. The fact that he was percieved to have delivered the Jennings-Cotto fight for Setanta may have coloured things over the last couple of days but other than that he's usually in the firing line.
