So now you are criticising a guy for winning a decision instead of a KO, it's getting ridiculous mate. Haye is a elite fighter and is also very good in terms of defense, there's no shame for not KOing him.

I'm not a big Klitschko fan, but the answer is simple, in my opinion. Wladimir's entire post-Peter I style is based on not taking any unnecessary chances. We've seen Wladimir against wholly defensive opponents like Ibragimov, Haye, Thompson, and Chambers and fail to press the attack until late in the fight, if at all.

Take the Ibragimov fight, for example. Wladimir was 4 inches taller, had a 5-inch longer reach, and outweighed him by 19 pounds. And, yet, the fight mainly consisted of Wlad and Ibragimov staring at each other all night, except for a brief sequence in round 10 when Wlad knocked Sultan into the ropes. If you look at Ibragimov's style, it is most aptly described as that of a counter-puncher. He leans back, hunches down and tries to catch Wladimir with a counter right hook every time Wlad threw his straight right hand. Wladimir was conscious of this and was reluctant to throw it much at all. Manny Steward was urging him to throw it, saying that Sultan didn't have the power to hurt Wlad, and that the straight right was too fast for Sultan to effectively counter. Yet Wladimir decided not to take the risk of getting countered and knocked out, and instead labored to an excruciatingly boring 12 round decision.

The knockout losses to Brewster and Sanders will always be in the back of Wladimir's head when he fights, and thus he will likely never take any offensive chances if there's even a remote possibility he could get knocked out. David Haye had pretty much given up in the later rounds of their fight and was looking for a single counter-punch miracle to knock Wladimir out, and just like in the Ibragimov fight, Wlad decided it was better to get the win than risk taking Haye's power shots.

Sometimes boxers have to cruise to UD's. It's just sensible boxing (Wlad is not the only boxer that does this.) I would have loved to see Wlad go for the knock out but in hindsight, why would he? He was comfortably winning the biggest heavyweight fight for about 10 years and was about to unify all but 1 title. If Wlad went all out attack, Haye may have knocked him out. It was an easy win for Wlad but a dangerous fight. Wlad got the job done effectively.

wtf... i have arrived in opposite land where Champion, ESB's biggest troll, has just made a post resembling something of a reasonable response.

    Regardless of what anyone says...

David Haye landed the best shot of the fight. And he had Wladdy holding on for an absolutely disgraceful 15 seconds after the punch. Not only that, Wlad was noticeably bruised up more than he's been in ages.

The real reason Klit fans are so mad at Haye is that he wasn't willing to be jabbed to death and then KO'd in round 12 like some Klitite sacrificial lamb. Instead he tried the only way possible to get a victory... Sit out of range of that jab, wait for an opening, and crash through.

    :goodThis is a good post.

So to answer Shaun's question - the reason Wlad couldn't do what you are asking is because of an inertia that physically makes it impossible for him to go about a fight in such a manner.

Repeat - It is physically impossible for him because he is severely gun-shy and is afraid of what the consequences will be if he tried to end a fight in anything other than a prolonged, safety first manner.

I mean is it really that hard for a Klitschko fan to say this.

It is impossible for most Klit fans to admit that Wlad is safety first. It is tantamount to admitting that his fights are not exciting and would undermine thier outrageous theories as to why people do not like him.

Of course bro. But you think just one of them could show reasoning at least once when asked a simple question. :fire
