I'm not really an MMA, but I have a question on Rousey.

Okay--She's beating no names in her division and it’s getting to the point where people won’t pay for 1-minute fights.

Can Rousey move up a weight class for a challenge?

believe it or not , yes they will pay and they will keep paying to see her as main event for short fights , you remember a guy called mike tyson , people would pay through the nose to watch him knockout opponents in super quick time and they loved it . as long as the cards are good people will keep paying !!

as for the weight class rousey will not move for anyone and why should she , if these girls want her belt the weight is 135lbs , people screaming cyborg will destroy her is laughable , get the drug freak to make weight and she will fall like all before her , its about time people started appreciating what they are watching instead of hating on the woman , its possible you will never see the likes of her again in your lifetime !!

OMFG White knight, fan boy alert!:patsch

UFC does not even have a 145 divison. It was designed that way to make the Cyborg fight impossible unless she fights at 135 the division UFC implemented specifically for Rousey.

They subsequently have added a 115 division who's champion is actually more entertaining than Rousey.

The Rousey persona is being msrketed to femanized American males and angry, bitter American females. Seeing how this place if full of that demographic her soaring popularity proves this.

The males want to give her emotional support and be dominated by her while the females want to fight men and be aggressive like her.

    This place is so broken...

no white knight , but yes i am a fan , im a fan of greatness when i see it , whether it be in a boxing ring , octagon , on a field , on a track , any sport im interested in i am a fan , i fully understand i am in a very small minority , all people seem interested in these days is hating on anyone that succeeds , the jealousy just pours out of peoples posts on this forum , it really is quite sad .

as for the weight class of 145 , where do i mention that in my previous post ? if you want to pick holes in my opinion at least pay attention to what i said in the first place .

How can you consider someone great who fights in a sport with a dearth of talent yet still avoids her only competition through proxy negotiations and smear campaigns?

I mentioned the 145 lb class because it was relevant to counter the pro Rousey/Zuffa propaganda you posted.

Unfortunately plenty of low-lifes still seem more than happy tuning in to watch an Olympic medalist who has been training her whole life, beat up total novices and soccer moms from some near by box fit class in total mismatches. Dos is spot on, the emasculated, feminized men and angry 'girl power' women who find this garbage entertaining and believe every bit of BS they are fed about her beating up men, being the most dominant athlete alive, being P4P number etc, are a sad indictment on society.

she can only fight what opposition is available in her own era , this goes for every fighter thats ever lived and it will never change . the fact is some of these girls are not that bad , its just that rousey is on a different level which comes from being an olympian .

obviously you are talking about cyborg when you say "her only competition" and yes right at this moment it does look like she is the only woman that would be able to compete at rouseys level , so yes i agree with you on that . however the fact is she has to get her ass down to 135lbs if she really wants to fight her , rousey is the champion and holds all the aces , she is the PPV queen and generates all the money right now , why should she do cyborg any favors , the featherweight championship of the world is 135 and thats the bottom line . the fight can be put together in a heartbeat all the girl has to do is ...

    MAKE WEIGHT !!!

Dave Meltzer is claiming UFC 190 did massive numbers. The direct TV numbers are huge and the ****ytics show the show may have outsold every wrestlemania ever.

Yea, people are getting tired. LOL

This is so redundant. Cyborg cannot make 135, even 140 is a stretch. Your arguments are pedantic and illusory. Fans do not care about baubles and distinctions. They want to see great fights between high profile fighters. So when a sport has two high profile fighters and one is making unreasonable demands and fighting behind her media machine's ability to obfuscate then she is the issue not the woman who wants to fight.

Do not worry: Even if Cyborg starves herself to make 135 she will get PED tested around the clock while Rousey will get carte blance and be able to take whatever she wants. The deck is stacked against Cyborg and Zuffa will make it impossible for her to win this fight.

It is a shame that people like you support this sort of discrimination. It could happen to one of your daughters some day. She may not have the right look or way about her and some corporate giant or media mogol/entity will put so many road blocks in her path that success will be next to impossible.

Cyborg does not want Rousey's belt. The weight is just an excuse at this point. They seem to be hiding behind it, especially when Cyborg is willing to fight Rousey at a 140lb catchweight. It's a fight that I believe Rousey would win, but someone on her team is adamantly against taking that risk.

It'll be a shame if Cyborg nearly kills herself to make 135 and shows up like a corpse. Hopefully her team doesn't allow that to happen to her because Dana White will surely take advantage of it. Fans should want to see these fighters in the ring at their very best. All they "should" have to do is get both sides to agree to thorough drug testing protocols and meet at a catchweight.
