A question regarding the popularity of Aussie boxers

    I don't think it'd come at a cost to the sport itself. It would come at a cost to the greedy promoters and sanctioning bodies which is why it'll probably never happen.

    In short to make it more marketable, you need 1 sanctioning body, 1 world champ per division (possibly less divisions), a true ranking system where the best have to fight the best, and more even match-ups across the board.

    Couple that with the "human interest" stories behind the fighters and the average joe will eat it up. More interest equals more dollars.
    What good is it when even on a dedicated boxing board no-one can name all the "Champions"? This is what turns people away.
