This is a thread thats going to be viewed objectively and carried out in good class....

no stupid hating resposonses but serious throught threw answers

    NOW

How Come When Floyds Success Is Bought Up, Theres Always That One Person Who Brings Up The Castillo Fight?

I Am Being Serious When I Say This But I Cant Wrap My Mind Aroudn The Concept...

The Shoulda Coulda Woulda Side Of This Argument
    • Castillo BEAT Floyd
    • Castillo Used The Perfect Gameplan Against Floyd
    • The Judges Gave Floyd The Fight
    The Reality Of This Argument

    • Floyd Mayweather Won
    • Floyd Was Injurred During The Fight
    • To Prove To The World HE COULD WIN CONVINCINGLY, There was an immediate rematch asap
    • If Castillo "supposedly" Beat Floyd Once, with the Perfect Game plan. Why couldnt he do it again?
I Just dont understand this whole concept... Can someone help me out?

    seriously

I am not a Mayweather fan and in regards to the Castillo fight he won, period.

As for an overall legacy in the sport though he should have stepped up to the plate more. He should have fought Cotto and Margarito (at the very least).

Boxing greats do not necessarily have to have perfect records - boxing greats do need to fight the best in their division. Mayweather did not do that. IMO he is more concerned with his pocket book than with his legacy in the sport. That tells it all.

I have no problem with anyone saying there are times where he could have stepped up more....
put more work into getting a fight with
    shane (before baldomir)
    costa
    Margarito
    Cotto

but what does Castillo supposedly winning have to do with anything?

thats like saying the lakers should have won game 3 of this years playoffs which in turn would result in them winning the nba championship...

they shoulda woulda coulda but they didnt..

Floyd gave this guy an IMMEDIATE rematch
    an 8 month turn around..

    And Floyd won again...

i just don't see how this Castillo thing can be used with any validity when arguing against floyd

and i think chris paul should have been this years 2008 mvp

in reality kobe is the mvp
and floyd beat castillo in their first fight...
not only in the first fight but in the rematch...

its really a horrible arguing point

and floyd was injurred in fight #1 on top of it..

also maybe floyd made the immediate rematch to prove he could win period, watch his reaction at the end of the 1st fight he didnt look to confident to me.

regardless of how he felt after the fight

    FLOYD WON!!!

    116-111 | judge: John Keane 115-111 | judge: Jerry Roth 115-111 ~

So REALLY what is your point?

if anything a much more stronger point would be the tightness of the scorecards in their 2nd Fight

    Fight #2
    115-113 | judge: Larry O'Connell 116-113 | judge: Daniel Van de Wiele 115-113 ~

The fact is that regardless of what us fans think FLoyd won the fight. Like Walk says, you cant really argue for Castillo considering that Floyd won the immediate rematch in convincing fashion.

Floyd is not the first fighter who was given a decision, nor will be the last. The difference between him and others is that he gave that immediate rematch.

Some other noteable fights where someone was seemingly robbed was I believe Mosley vs DLH 2, Casamayor vs Santa Cruz, Felix Sturm vs DLH, etc..(you can add more if you can think of any)

there are always going to be close fights where a fight can go either way, but what the judges decide is what goes down in the books.

Obviously the whole point of it is to try and take away from his career. As one obviously he retired undefeated, so one loss would be a massive difference.

I haven't seen the fight, ill have to watch it sometime, but unless it was a total robbery, people should get over it, but the fact is not everyone will.

And also, people love revving up nuthuggers in general (be it any boxers huggers), so when someones talking about how Floyd eats gold and shits out 100 dollar bills, they throw that out there just to get a response.

Also, not trying to be a dick cause you get your points across in a mature manner and thats great, but the argument that because Floyd clearly won a rematch means he won the first fight is a bit silly. If your logic was right then there would never be rematches.

    right thats all im saying...

it has to be the stupidest leverage for argument maybe ever...

If your going to bring up something bring up the fact that maybe he couldnt handle oscars jab, or zabs quickness gave him some problems early and someone with equilivent speed would hurt him...

    etc etc

the whole castillo thing is worthless
