These type of questions can only determine what one calls quiting. I don't think DLH, Arguello or Cotto quit in either fights. In the midst of a one sided beatdown quitting isn't the case.

Andrew Golota quit against Tyson. Not seriously hurt but down in the 1st he wasn't in any kind of serious trouble but rather gave up and it's too bad his trainer had to make an ass outta team Golota. The result was changed to no contest after Tyson tested positive for bud.

Golota had a bone chipped in his skull against Tyson. Had he continued, he might have died or suffered brain damage.

Cotto was beat into submission and there was nothing more he could do. If he could last for 1 and half more rounds just to make the decision, don't you think he would try? He obviously knew he couldn't make it anymore and his body was done.

So what he quitted, a lot of great fighters has done it. Miguel can bounce back.

He quit...it's not that bad, it was a good beating.

...and it's not those "who say Cotto quit..."

Everyone who saw it, that isn't a Cotto Queen knows he quit...he'll just have to move on, he's still a good figter.

Cotto quit against arguably the best and strongest welter and at least made a valiant effort since the 2nd round when he had a broken nose. Oscar quit on his stool against a smaller guy who had only fought once at 135 pounds. Cotto will bounce back hopefully, unfortunately I think Oscar should retire.

I regard these things as Tkos, or just knock outs. I don't understand people who complain about someone quitting. They need to go watch early cage fighting or something.

Long story short, I regard Cotto as a knockout not a quitting

He quit, deal with it. No ones calling him a ***** for doing so, but if he does it again.. then you gotta ask yourself..

He quit. Margarito was jogging forward to deliver another bashing and Cotto took a knee before he even threw a punch.

Nothing wrong with that. Dude couldnt breathe, i'd have taken a knee on the first body shot.

When someone quits it counts as TKO you know.

Margarito took him down, thats for sure.

But it does seem like it was a learning experience, I hope he gets back on his horse and keeps improving.
