His last 6 fights post Wlad:

    Robert Hawkins (UD) Who?
    Julius Long (KO1) Glass Jaw
    James Toney (SD)
    James Toney (UD)
Jameel McCline (UD) was knocked down 3 times
Oleg Maskaev (TKO 6) Glass Jaw

so since he fought Wlad and lost every round but the 3 in which he had a knockdown he has 2 KO's against fighters that have Glass Jaws and 4 fights that went the distance. How is this guy the supposed #2 Heavyweight in the World? Am I missing something? He has shown he can't KO his better opposition yet his opposition at this point in his career has been mediocre at best. If there is a more overrated Heavyweight I would like to know who it is.

    Thoughts?

I agree his resume is a complete joke. He fights one bum after the other. You know what really gets me mad is that Peter beating Grampa Glassjaw Maskaev was such a great win for Peter. Oleg was what 41 and had been koed 5 times before that. Chagaev should be number 2.

That's what the division has to offer, like it or not. You make it sound like the division is full of Muhammad Alis and Mike Tysons, the division is lacking that's why not many are making a big deal out of resumes when it comes to that division.

A quick look is one look too many.
    A major eyesore.
Not the appearance one expects from a professional heavyweight boxer , let alone a champion.

It isn't a quick look, it is like watching a tennis match going from one side of Sam to the other.

I think you're highlighting the negatives. He's no George Foreman, but he is a bull of a man with a big punch and a hard chin; a tough fight for anyone. I was disappointed after the first Toney fight, but he said the record straight by dominating him in the rematch when he came in at better shape. Let's not forget that Toney was a top contender, either. The Maskaev win was a solid one. The McCline win was a lot closer than it should've been.

Let's see what he can do against Vitali Klitschko.

Robert Hawkins...this guy had only been KOd once when Peter fought him, and that was by Maskaev (everyone knows OLEG has a punch).

Julius Long...glass jawed bum...??? the 7 foot 1 inch Long had only been out twice at the time Sam fought him, and hasn't been out since. This made since at the time, as the WBC had yet to be held hostage by Maskaev. Peter would beat Long, Toney, Maskaev...and then take Valuev's belt...it didn't happen, but

bringing him up doesn't help your point.

McCline...a joke...??? at least Sam shows up to fight him. If he's so much of a joke,

    Maskaev...he wasn't a real champ, but

...Sam had to beat him to take the belt and he did. Hold it against him...???

McCline and Toney are legit good HW wins and throw in Maskaev (to a lesser extent). He was entitled to a tune up or two after Wlad IMO. That said Peter's strictly b level.

Yea he is 6-0 since the wlad fight and your point is????? James toney was a top 10 ranked heavy that was SUPPOSED to box cirlcles around Peter both times only to lose th sammy,,,, McCline is a solid guy that Peter should not have fought with only 10 days prior notice with busted up hand and a ruptured eardrum. Oleg Maskaev was who he had to go thru to get the belt..besides that alot of those on here thought Maskaev would KO or outbox Peter:good:hi:

Sad thing is that the Maskaev or toney wins are better than any win on vitali's resume

This is a better post without that piece of **** quote.

Peter is actually one of the biggest toughest looking fighters out there. His chest is ridiculously small, however and that makes his gut look even fatter.

Vitalis win over Sanders is better than beating Toney and definently better than beating Maskaev. However apart from this win his resume is incredibly thin.
