I could, in good conscience, mark the first TOney fight as a loss for PEter, cause he sure as HELL did get beaten in that fight.

And apparetnly the powers that be agreed, and did a very rare move in ordering a rematch for an eliminator.

He didn't even beat Toney the first time. Fat, old, washed up Toney gave him a ****ing boxing lesson.

and you also personally rank brian minto above them all so your opinion does not hold much substance

Peter's power is way overrated especially against his better opposistion which his record shows. Losing a fight in which you knocked your opponent down 3 times yet you lose 114-111 on all 3 scorecards shows he has no skill at all.

I have been saying this for a long time. I am telling you, Sam is NOT the same fighter as before the Wlad fight. I think he lost alot of confidence.

Peter was undefeated at the time and his confidence was sky high. Wlad brought him crashing down to earth.

I do think he has improved, but his "killer instinct" is not the same. I think Peter would get KO'd in a rematch with Wlad.

More important....I truly believe that Peter and his camp will duck a rematch with Wlad as long as they can

I really like Peter. I always have.

But his power is GROSSLY OVERRATED and this cannot be disputed. Just because the guy is black and built like a truck does not mean he has power. And this is pretty much the only reason people claim he has all this "raw power."

Peter, sans Maskaev, HAS NOT KNOCKED OUT ANYONE. His highlight reel knockout is against a china chinned cruiser.

And from a boxing standpoint, I fear Peter does not react well to punches he can't see. Ie, if it is not coming straight at him, he struggles. Wlad, Maskaev, McCline, and Toney all gave him fits with hooks and uppercuts. I am worried that Peter has tunnel vision.

But regardless, the Peter=Power argument is a joke. He has not shown as of yet that he has anything better than average power.

    Very well said:good

Peter gets props for ALL fights and Wlad get shot down for Fights he HAS to take. Typical ESB double standard

I think that he has good power, but his technique hasn't been good enough on this level to land with it.

good post. If we are talking about KO power.....Wlad has more than Peter but he never gets credit for it....like I said earlier, typical ESB double standard

In any fight he's in, he will alwys have a puncher's chance. He undoubtedly has a big punch, when he can land it.

His skill level is very low for a boxer at that level. A guy his size, with any modicum of skill, would not be questionable against a former middlewt, even in one fight.

If Sam had any skill, Toney would have been KO'd.

(And if Toney had any power (at heavy-weight), Sam would have been KO'd).

The division is weak, and for that reason, I don't have much quarrel with his #2 ranking.

If Vitali comes in healthy on the night, I don't think Sam's ranking will last very long.
