No. I didn't leave out that the eliminators were against Toney (it goes without saying). Everybody knows this...but since you bring it up I did forget something...

...between the 2 eliminators that Sam fought and the interim cout, it should read that there was a period where Maskaev refused to fight Peter...

...then after it was scheduled, Maskaev pulled out.

Toney is not just a former MW, he beat Ruiz for the WBA belt, a lot of people think he beat Peter the first time out, he made one time Lewis conqueror Rahman, ***** out on the stool...he hasn't fought at middle in about 15 years...James Toney is the best skilled HW in the division, it doesn't that he used to starve himself to compete in the lower weight classes anymore...he's had great accomplishments in the lower divisions, but he is a full fledged HW now.

James Toney started he career at 160 which is middleweight and got the IBF strap. Than he moved up to 168 supermiddleweight and got the IBF belt. Cruiser 190 Ibf belt. Need I say more. Plus Roy Jones had already destroyed Ruiz when he went up to heavy. Plus everyone knows had bad ruiz was. He lost to 2 former middleweights.

With all of the rabbit punching he does, you would expect him to have more KO's even if he had decent power.

I'm beginning to think his highlight reel KO of a semi-retired cruiserweight, was just a lucky punch, and nothing more.

Maskaev was so old when he fought Peter and past his prime it was ridiculous. Oh wait did he even have a prime or beat another top ten heavy other than Hasbeen Rahman? Let me think. Oh hell no.

...the point is James hasn't fought at middle in 15 years, and you want to focus on that stage of his career...go ahead, it's your loss. James Toney is a HW, and it's not like he's the 1st fat HW...he's just the best fat HW right now, and he's slimming down. All of you saysayers will be suprised next time you see him. He'll be under 220 and mobile.

Dude, you've got the wrong guy if you want me to defend Maskaev, he knew Peter would run him over...even though many of you doubted after the McCline fight.

Anyways if you have to hear about Maskaev...here's a good interview excerpt...

In the amateurs, you hold a win over Vitali Klitschko, what was the fight like?

I would argue that Chagaev or even Valuev have a better resume than Peter who was fed Glass Jaw bum after bum early in his career to make him look good. He has not KOed anyone of note except Maskaev who was already KOed by Tua, Johnson, Corey Sanders, all who are average fighters and NEVER won a belt.

Thats weird sense Vit has been hit by much bigger punchers than Oleg. **** vit has never been dropped or behind in the score cards. If this was true dont you think someone would have it on Youtube. I mean the article has know credibility. Richard Thomas? Who is he?

I'm still not sure how Wushu can discredit Peter's victory over Toney because he was a former Super Middle, then immediately list Byrd as one of Wlad's BEST victory's. That's pretty hypocritical if you ask me.

F*ck no it wouldn't be on Youtube...I wish. VITKLIT got KOd in a kickboxing match too, no footage I know of there.

...with regards to the Maskaev thing, it's common knowledge. I wish I could find an old post I did on it.

There's a great Manny Steward quote from when he was asked about the situation...guess what he said...???...and I have to paraphrase unfortunately...

"Yes, that did happen...but I'm told Vitali was struggling with injuries even then..."

...God that had me rollin' back when that came out...can you believe it, this "I only lose because I'm injured" ****, has been with him before he even entered the pros...:nut

It's very easy. Toney outboxed Peter in the first fight and was fat and his reflexes were not at the top like they once were.

Well Bryd fought at heavyweight and beat Holyfield, Fres, MCcline, and Golata. Plus unlike Toney who was very fat, Bryd was all muscle/
