    For what it's worth, here are the numbers at which they currently sit on my own list:
    Gans (8) over Moore (19)
    Duran (10) over Tunney (28)
    Hearns (27) a little above Jones Jr (30)
    Ketchel (21) way above LaMotta (64)

    I was thinking about some of the placings on my list, some of the ones that didn't sit right with me. These comments confirmed my suspicions (minus Hearns above RJJ, that one definitely stays)

    So far I'm convinced that i should've put Gans over Moore.

    But you don’t want to fall into the mold of copying other people’s lists or ranking highly just because others do.

    Plus you would need to change your criteria and decide what you want to use.

    I am working mine out now. Starting division by division. Looking at titles, and for modern (unified and undisputed titles the most highly), along with ranked opponents and how highly. Looking at greats like Charles (or those shut out by the color line etc,) as well as a contrast. I am really struggling at rating pre 1920’s boxers fairly as rankings and records are incomplete in many cases....I think pre 1920 might suffer in my list when it is done.

    Just make sure your list is yours...that’s what makes it fun.

    Oh you know me, I don't let other people decide my opinions, I just already had a mixed opinion over those placings and decided to get a few others to help me think it out

    I've reaffirmed that Tunney deserves to be over Duran despite it clearly being an unpopular decision, but I really think Gans should be over Moore

    I'm sure it'll turn out fine, but ranking oldschool fighters is tough. Different rounds, different knockdown rules, different fight frequency, etc.

    I've noticed my opinions on guys like Battling Nelson and Sullivan, in that they deserve a top 50 placing, isn't popular to say the least lol

    Now if you will just look at Benny Leonard and place him around 10 above Sugar Ray Leonard, then I might be able to rest tonight knowing that all is well in the universe lol

    Oh by the way, BitPlayerVesti seems to be the oldschool savant around here. You may want to ask him about some placings. I remember him teaching me stuff about Fitzsimmons
