He was hurt by Lazcano in his last fight who is nowhere near world class and primarily a 135 fighter. Also noticed I said a possible stoppage on ACCUMULATION not getting KO'd.

I believe he's finished or at least on a steep slide but who knows sometimes a change in direction like changing trainers can make a difference.

He might well be on the slide but people seem to be taking the Mayweather and Lascano fights and jumping to a lot of hasty conclusions. Take away the Mayweather fight, that he was always going to stuggle to win, and does the run at 140 of Maussa by KO, JLC by KO and Lascano (who was number 7 in the Rings 140 rankings BTW) on PTS seem like he's finished?

I know you said acculmination but Paulie has only managed to KO 5 people by acclumination, thats his only way of stopping an opponent and he's still only managed to do it 5 times, its 4+ years since he's go a KO and never against decent oppostion. You may think Hatton is done and thats fair enough, but no way is Hatton THAT done.

I keep hearing it too, and I also keep thinking "what the **** are you talking about Ricky?"

He has never shown his supposed "boxing skills" since the WBU days of shame. It's easier to look a good boxer when the collective competition of this period put the Manchester bus driving industry at severely understaffed.

True that...Malignaggi is not nearly as good as Lascano. :D Also, Lascano brought a lot of pressure and good workrate, which is always hard to deal with.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but let's no make things up to suit the agenda. Lazcano is ranked in the top ten by all the major boxing mags. If that's not world class then who is. Plus he hasn't fought at 135 in three years. Plus he hits far harder than Paulie Malignaggi has ever dreamed of. If he stops Hatton (barring a freak cuts result which is always possible however unlikely) I will bear my arse off London Bridge next time I'm down there! The guy hasn't put a dent in anyone for about five years let alone anyone anywhere near world class.

Yeah, I agree. It's only the speed that worries me about this Paulie guy. If Hatton is badly faded, this guy might just hit and run all night.

If Malignaggi's right hand holds up then he stops Hatton, who has been hurt by several fighters including Lazcano (thanks for help with the shoelace ref) and sparked by Mayweather, a guy who hadn't even put a dent in anyone for ages. Paulie is not elite class, but then neither is Wicky....and his chin just gets worse and worse.

Well blow me, guys who stand there and punch the **** out of each other for 12 rounds might get hurt every now and then, whatever next, bear shits in the woods? Mayweather is a welterweight who has been fighting much bigger guys for most of the last two years (DLH, Baldomir) hence why his KO percentage has declined markedly. For mine, it's academic whether Paulie's hand holds up. If he's gonna win this one it has to be on points. You have to go back over five years to find the last fighter the guy stopped... he has no pop like a ******* child!

Regarding the "tomato cans" comment, it's easy to look back and say that now in the context of looking at Hatton as a world championship class fighter. At the time though, he was a prospect and his opposition was no different to what most guys face on the way up (see, for example, Anthony Peterson at the moment). Admittedly there may have been an element of lingering too long at the same level around 2002-04 when his career did stagnate a bit (why would Frankie would rush to get him a meaningful fight when he can pack the MEN with 20,000 fighting fringe contenders -until Hatton takes action by threatening to leave him).

Malignaggi was pretty rubbish last time out and the time before that got a home town decision when he basically lost to Ngoudjo.

He seems to fight like FMJ but without the speed, reflexes or skill.

If there's something he's not showing, it needs to make an appearence, otherwise if Hattons at 80% or more, Malignaggi's going to lose.

I haven't seen the Cotto performance, maybe there's something there to offer hope?
