I just don't think HF puts his shots together well enough. Sloppy, wild at times and no real intensity to his work. Yes he did rock Pulev briefly but aside from that moment he never looked in command.

I didn't rate Hughie before the fight and he didn't let me down, he has no offensive game whatsoever and he's physically weak as ****. The cut looked a lot worse than it was so for him to react that bad shows he is mentally weak as well. Hughie is British level at best.

What would you class as British level then, because Hughie just destroyed Sexton?

He’s well above British. British for me is Dave Allen. Dubois and Gorman fall outside that right now for me because they are prospects. Hughie would school Allen.

He was tentative and wasn't putting shots well together, poor footwork and looping right hands.
Pulev is old, you either take it to him and make him feel old and outbox him.
    Hughie did neither.

I mean he probably won't get further than British level but I do think he's better than Dave Allen. I will quit this forum if hughie wins a world title, that's a promise.

Taking fights against Parker and Pulev in a 12 months span has definitely redeemed him a bit for me. You can't count him out given his age and talent. But he needs a ton of work.

Hughie gassed. He was getting outmuscled by Pulev. Thats why he only threw wide telegraphed counters at Pulev and stopped to box. Against another opponent (the likes of Parker)he would have looked much better and nobody would been complaining about his technique...

I have to admit that he is more or less good material to build a good fighter. But, man, you have to buid it basically from scratch, there is a ton of work to do in order to make hughie a skilled champion. I dont know who trained him, but I dont like the work he did, and I dont know his amteur career neither, but it should have been longer an more focused on technical boxing.

You see that you can make something with this material, but he is too old now... they should have built this champion BEFORE, not now... now it seems too late, I guess. You have to rework him completely :(

Well for me he needs to learn that there's a middle ground between extremes negative backfoot tactics and loading up looking for one big shot.

He's got potential but his whole career has been blighted thus far.

I think hes got a bit of a road back, and there are other good young fighters like Gorman and Hrgovic who are rapidly making up ground on him so he needs to get it right and fast.

Peter wont let Hughie near Joyce we seen why , he would get bull dozed not just grinded out like against less then 50% k.o Pulev....

Hughes best bets are guys like Pulev and Hrgovic.....but he's off the radar in top 10.

That's where you're wrong . I've watched the fight 3 times and will view some more because it reveals a lot.

The third time convinced me that Joshua would be no match for Hughie who would put on a master class and that was evident the first time , I just had to make sure !

Hughes the uncrowded champion and everyone knows it not the bum Joshua who Hughie knocks out effortlessly ! :campeon:

Hugo Fury is not top 15 material. If he changed his game plan, its because Pulev ( age 37 ) made him change it.

Look for Joshua to add yet another old man on his resume. This is becoming a pattern.
