    Interesting that Johnny Greaves shares the same thoughts as most of us do in respect of Latvian ''journeymen'', calling them ''lemmings'' and that they just take a dive the moment they get hit :lol:

    Saw Johnny in action against Skeete a few months back, well oversized and overmatched, still gave it his all.

    It seems our thoughts haven't gone unnoticed :yep

    wow that's a real eye opener for me. Correct me if i'm wrong but it sounds like there told by their promoter to lose but make things look interesting. I might sound proper naive now but i always thought everyone went into a fight with the intention of winning :lol:

    I don't think they are encouraged to lose, just expected to and don't always try their hardest (it's a job after all). Great article though, when I was first into boxing I used to think that journeyman were one of the worst things about boxing but they really are needed!

    A very interesting read into the insight of true Journeymen and their state of mind when boxing in the ring.


    You should read the article again! Journeymen play a vital role for up and coming young, talented boxers, If there weren't Journeymen they we'd see some strange records.. Plus young prospects wouldn't be able to get any experience without Journeymen; they'd have to fight more dangerous opposition and could easily end up a can themselves being fed to the lions to early.

    Again, Journeymen play a vital role in the sport of boxing (they are much needed). Without them Boxing would struggle to build a complete, seasoned, well rounded fighter :good

    If you aren't skilled enough to win titles then you'll make dick all, if you learn to survive and become an opponent 20 plus times a year you'll do alright. I remember reading somewhere (on here I think) that Peter Buckley was one of the top earners in the UK.
