maybe it was baz he was talking about? but i know he has a massive amount of respect for him. was asking for the buckley-mcmillan a year ago, mcmillan arguably was losing before the finish.

buckley just doesnt give you anything to work with in terms of a target, doesnt throw anything more dangerous than a jab. which is pretty snappy. he did box for england i believe:think

it might be a similar to how joe frazier said that scrap iron johnson was his toughest fight

Interesting article, it is surprising they keep there license for so long when they lose so much. Most of them don't get knocked out though and I suppose that's what is important

I've often thought it would be such a great subject matter to make a feature length documentary on with a high production value. Not just an hour long HBO special but a proper film.

Anyone with the bollocks to get in the ring, win, lose, draw or brutally flattened with the first punch of the fight should hold their head high, and deservedly so IMO.

In a World with so many easily won titles, I guess it does seem kinda' pointless to fight unless you're going to reach the pinnacle of the sport, but a job is a job, I bet there are plenty of office clerks that work that know they have no chance of becoming the MD, no reason to jack it in.

    I understand his point though.

Some journeymen are awful, the ones that don't come to even have a go need to be thrown out.... I'm talking about Paul Royston, Karl Taylor, maybe even Buckley in his latter days.

The ones like Tony Booth and Jon Baguley are my favourites, they come to win, and you can be sure that if the house fighter is off their game they'll get turned over.

This is true. There's a difference in testing a prospect and merely making up the numbers and falling over first time you get clipped.
