I don't recall hearing about this before, if true, it's quite shocking.

If thats true Bunce didn`t exactly say McClellan was told by British Doctors he was putting his health at very serious risk if he left Britain he just said he travelled against the Doctors advice. Was there the serious warning about his health that was really put to him? Probably was but who knows for sure?

Who cares. McClellan deserves all he got. The guy was a disgraceful human being. I wouldn't **** on him if he was on fire, not even know.

Hope the **** lives a long life and continues to suffer.

disgraceful in what sense? i dont believe in the whole "judge someone for what they do to animals" for animals are NOT humans. you cant generalize animal rights with humans rights.

so if you hit a dog in the street you should get charged with vehicular homicide? **** outta here you peta ****.

animal rights activist or not, if one treats an animal like that they have some serious ****ing problems and are a sketchy ass person as it is. p.s. didn't he beat women too?

Your words are harsh, but of course he was a dissgrace on some ways.

From a boxing point of view - he was the Lacy of his time. He got exposed early in his carreer when it became obvious that he could not beat even medocre boxers on points, so they put him in with a string of nobodies. Then they took a chance with Benn, and gerald of course got KTFO.

Had he boxed on for a year or two - like Lacy did - he would have been just as exposed, or more.

Right, so if the referee would have stopped the Benn fight in the 1st round you do realize that there would have been little to no controversy about it. What a hype job G-Man was.

    First I've heard of that.

Back to the original topic, I may be wrong but I'm 85% certain that the book 'War, Baby' implies that flying back to America so soon after the fight finished any chance he had of a decent recovery. Not stating that as fact and if it's wrong please correct me.
