JMM has a better KO% than Pacquiao. He's had 11 KO's (NOT TKOs) in his career, Pacquiao 12. He's had 17 stoppages inside 5 rounds in his career. Several one punch knockouts. Many knockdowns early in fights. He always had power. He's called 'Dinamita' for a reason. Now, consider that for this fight, he's trained specifically for strenght and power for the first time. He endured 4 and half months solid training to shape his body for this specific purpose. It slowed him down a bit, but he had that power to end it with the perfect shot, and it was perfect. Nothing suspicious about it at all. He's severely wobbled Pacquiao several times in previous fights, and again that was before he ever trained specifically for strenght and power. Let's look at the knockdown in the 3rd round. This content is protected Where Pacquiao's left hand is positioned, he didn't see the punch coming at all. And anyone who knows boxing knows they're the shots that do the damage. As for the KO punch, it doesn't require explanation. Pacquiao ran into it face first, effectively increasing the power on the shot. Juan Manuel was the first and only man to knock Casamayor out, apart from the quit job against Bradley. Only the second man to stop the very tough Katsidis. How long had it been before the Hatton fight that Pacquiao had a one-punch KO? This is boxing, all it takes is one perfect punch. There is also a doubt about Pacquiao's punch resistance due to completely neglecting S&C, or just a general decline. Also think about the contrasts between Martinez/Williams 1 & 2, and Jones Jr/Tarver 1 & 2. Why do certain Pacquiao fans have to try so desperately to discredit JMM's win? If you had half the class and humility of the man you support, you'd just give him his credit and move on.
and on top of that, JMM's main objective this past Saturday night was to win by KO. Juan was clearly sitting down on his punches more than in the previous fights, he knew he wasn't going to win by outboxing Manny, so he went for the KO, and at the end got it by taking a very big gamble that he was close to losing in the 5th and 6th rounds particularly. He had been saying it all this time before the fight, and actually ****ing meant it.
JMM got heavier with muscles not fat like his first trip in WW. so his power definitely increased. his been training like what? 4 months for this? he always hit Pac flush except before he doesn't have enough power. now he did the same punch + additional upper body strength + Pac's momentum = out cold.
Yes, definitely felt he was throwing with bad intention. I didn't believe he was going to trade with Pacquiao. I thought he was going to try to box him again. Should have known better looking at the specific type of training he was doing. He sacrificed speed for Power, and utilized that amazing timing he has. He's an absolute genius in the ring.
Yes, good point. 4 and a half months solid training. Pacquiao didn't do half that. Perhaps people should look there before pointing fingers.
kd on the third was suspect...1 punch from jmm at a distance with pac's guard up and pac goes down??? doesnt make any sense considering pac got hit with combos in their previous matches and never went down.... and @ 40 jmm suddenly has julian jackson type of power??? it really doesnt add up... unless you add angel heredia into the equation and you do the math...
This. At the end of the day that mother****ed was haunter by Pacquiao, and while Pac was taking everything in stride Marquez literally had fire in his ass since the last fight. He practically willed that KO
I am. Tired of whining Pacquiao fans trying to discredit a great win. Nothing wrong with that, is there? You seem to know a lot about PEDs, more than most here in fact, and I recall you telling me that PEDs do not magically gift you with added speed and power. So why would the knockdown and knockout be even an issue with anyone here in regards to PED use? Would you agree it has no bearing?
If you compare his body structure when he first moved up and how he looks now were talking about maybe a loss of 4lb of fat and the same amount gained in muscle. Over the course of that entire period if you train like a weight lifter thats not actually a realistic result but a pretty minor one with any type of strength/conditioning plan. He said he was going for the KO and his entire camp was designed on power with the expectation that his timing would makeup for the loss in speed. Whats the point in outboxing and outfighting him to just get robbed again? His plan worked to perfection and noone deserves it more.
I don't know why you're so bothered. You believe he's clean and that he wouldn't touch PEDs, that's your opinion - others disagree. You're not going to change their minds by posting KO%s and stuff. Might as well let them get on with it.
you gotta admit kd on the 3rd was a bit too surprisingly weird... i mean cmon man, on the 3 previous fights, he never once put down pac once and he is hitting him with combos...and just 1 punch in the 3rd, pac goes down???
