When did he ever load up on a single punch like that in the previous fights? He used to wobble Pac with combos, now he sits down full force on single punches and you are surprised?
True, but likewise you're not going to convince certain people that JMM is on steroids now by posting interviews Heredia did years ago, but you do it anyway. If you were a JMM fan and read some of the nonsense that's been posted here since the fight, you might be doing it too. All the thread is for is to open certain people's eyes to the fact that he's always had power. :conf
Because he trained for 4 and a half months specifically to add power, and sat down on a single punch that Pacquiao never saw coming. What are you not getting here?
You people are ******s. Its innocent until proven guilty. And is it proven that jucing increases power? Look at is this way.... Marquez is a student of the game and a technician. When he throws punches, he throws them pretty much by the book. So Marquez with more bulk, and with near perfect technique is going to equal a lot more power. I am sorry but most people who are suspicious of Marquez are also the ones defending Pac in the Pac vs Floyd debate. If they were to use their defence for that, they would realise until a result comes back negative hes innocent. Its not hard to strap additional muscle to your body guys. Especially if you have as much time on your hands as marquez does to do so.
I have posted that interview a few times because people are interested in who this guy is everyone is talking about, and it's one of only few that are online. It's also a pretty interesting interview. I am a JMM fan, have been for years. One of my favourite fighters.
this is where i disagree with you, he doesn't have the power to crack Pac's chin before even when hit flushed, not even a knockdown. thanks to his brilliant training camp to add power, he finally able to crack it.
His KO% speaks for itself. The power was there. I think a lot of it has to do with the way he was throwing his punches in the fight. In previous fights it was a lot of quick combos, before he got tagged himself. In this fight he was throwing with reckless intent. He really sat down on those punches and was getting pretty beat up himself before the Knockout. I have a feeling Pacquiao's punch resistance might not quite be what it was also, but that's open to conjecture.
Nacho himself said that he was shocked because Marquez "isn't a power puncher". I think he certainly proved that he is stronger this fight. It was his main goal after all. But he also hit Manny with shots that Manny didn't see coming this time. Especially the first knockdown when Manny was blocking the view of that shot with his glove. The second Manny was on total offense and really taking it too Marquez and got careless as he said. This is boxing and sometimes lightning strikes. Especially when the other guy is absolutely possessed about striking you with it. That's boxing. All respect to the winner.
lol Marquez never displayed that kind of power, even when he was fighting in the lighter divisions and was closer to his natural weight Suddenly he's not just knocking Pac down with a single shot, clean off his feet, but he managed to knock him unconscious Dude never even came CLOSE to take Pac off his feet ... he barely even staggered or stunned him in the past 3 fights and now he's just knocking him down with ever power shot he lands? Pac's fought bigger guys who were natural welters/super welters like Clottey and Margs and they couldn't even put a dent into him 6 months of training will allow you to knock guys unconscious with single punches who you couldn't even come close to hurting before?? And look at the nature of his power shots ... he just winds back and clocks him
Clottey barely threw a punch. Margarito is so slow he didn't land much to the head. Also JMM has indeed heavily rocked Pacquaio, several times. You obviously haven't even watched those fights. He trained specifically for strenght for 4 and a half months, it makes sense that he had more power. I know, it seems incredible that training for power for the first time would make you more powerful.. I'd wonder if Pacquiao's complete lack of S&C training for this fight affected his punch resistance too.
No doubt that Marquez is juiced to his gills IMO. That doesnt change much to me as a fan. The win is still amazing.
Training "power" for a few months magically makes you into a 1 punch wrecking machine, far above your natural weight and LOL ... Margs hit Pac over 200 times with 135 of those being power shots ... Clottey was less successful with only 108 punches landing but 88 of them were power punches Natural WW/LMW can't hurt him but a blown up featherweight with a few months of "training" brutally KOs him?? And he didn't do **** to Pac on those fights ... yeah he out boxed him but thats all he could do ... his power was no where near enough to get a KO victory so he cautiously tried to out box him instead of trying to trade with him. And its not like he was landing huge shots all night, he was having the same kind of success rate Margs and Clottey had. Ironically he was being out boxed this time and managed to land some crazy hayemakers. Shane Mosley and Cotto couldn't hurt him but JMM can ... lol
