Kovalev is too basic. Whether you like it or not. Appart from ward he fought who? pascal?

All he knows about boxing is the ABC, and still has problems with the C. Let's be honest, kovalev belongs nowhere in the p4p list.

I agree. I picked Kov in the first fight but in the second half of the fight you could see Wards adjustments were starting to work. Picked Ward in the second and would pick Ward in the 3rd. Kov got his win in the first fight but unfortunately the establishment had other plans.

on top of that, what other top fighter is going to give ward damn near the whole purse? ward won't fight anyone dangerous unless he gets at least 75%, probably more now. he won't be back unless his demands become realistic(never happen).

This. Kovalev is an excellent athlete with good handspeed and power, but also one dimensional. Early in the first fight Kovalev was dominating Ward with his 1-2's and was timing Ward with his right hand, but after the 3-4 round Ward adjusted and went to the body, which Kovalev didn't have much of an answer for. In the last three rounds Kovalev was gassed and coasted, which is why I think Ward got the decision.

In the rematch Ward avoided Kovalev's jab and went to work on the body immediately and completely outclassed Kovalev, who still had no answer for Ward's body work.

Kovalev has at least wanted the big names always. he did step up to fight ward and came pretty close to beating him. Imgaine if in his corner after round 6 the trainer said SOMETHING to him.

and I agree Kovalev doesn't have a signature win yet. But, it's not his fault. He wanted to fight Stevenson but Duva is doing stupid things. wanting it to do it on her network in the city she chooses. knowing the fight doesn't make sense outside of quebec and on Showtime. Duva is all wrong for Kovalev.
