Mark not admitting to doping when it was pretty much clear he was based not only on the physical tall tell signs but also a very reliable source in Jose Conseco is a HUGE difference between Mark and Manny's sitaution bro. By Mark blowing the whistle on A LOT of pro baseball players numerous times and where he actually said he helped INJECT roids into Mark on a number of occassions is enough evidence for a judge to convict if it was to go to court. For Mark's situation there was a source....there was evidence and there was a platform to pursue legal action for alledgedly doping. PAC's situation stemmed from basically NOTHING. There wasn't a source...there wasn't evidence...there was no solid foundation for that accusations. And based on where the accusation began, it only further diminished the strength of the baseless rumors. There's really NO comparison with Manny and Mark and their situation of being accused of doping b/c with Mark....the accusation were founded and with cause....With PAC the accusations were baseless and without merrit. PAC not agreeing to demands from Floyd is nothing like Mark saying "im not here to talk about the past, I'm here to talk about the future". That's just a silly comparision b/c of the vast disparity between the two situations. There's a very good reason way the VAST majority condemned MARK when he was going through his doping scandal and why the VAST majority don't buy Floyd's accusations about PAC. Most everyone with a half of brain (MAJORITY) know Manny is clean and a special fighter. The group of folks who condemned Mark and the other doping ball players years back are the same folks who know PAC is clean. It's really just common sense. For those who lack common sense or logic either are emotionally vested agaisnt PAC or are the same small group of idiots who thought Mark was telling the truth....The same kinds of mental midgets who believe Floyd's baseless accusations about Manny.
That doesn't change the FACT that his biggest wins were against guys at the twilight of their careers, and fighters who unlike fighters i.e. Mosley and others :hey, used steroids to prolonge their physical prime.
Being at the twilight of ones career doesn't necessarily mean they were still the not best fighters around. Other than De La Hoya and Morales (after the 3rd fight) the rest were still among the best in their weight classes. Cotto went on to win a belt at 154. Clottey is the same fighter, hard for a fighter who covers up and then throws to really just decline. Barrera went on to beat Morales again and others before Morales beat Pac. Thank God we have athletes God has blessed who don't need steroids to fight into their 30s like Pacquiao and Hopkins. :hey
Thanks for quoting (and reshowing on this page) Pac's achievements (A.K.A. Pac hater suicide note). :good
Your arguement would be valid if you presented a comparison to other boxing greats like I did. But you didn't. You just assumed every boxing great never had a fight with a champion past his prime. Weak. Bill Gallo knows a thing or two about boxing history. He was former President of the Boxing Writers Association of America. Born in 1922, he was first hand witness (not youtube boxing historian like most of us) to many of boxing's ATGs. Take these: Is he as good or better than: This content is protected ? My opinion - This content is protected . This content is protected ? This content is protected . This content is protected . What about Henry Armstrong, who held three titles at the same time? Wasn't he in the same class in throwing punches in multitudes? Didn't This content is protected ? My answer: No. They are different fighters. While Armstrong would bury his head into his opponent's chest, firing lefts and rights to the body and head, Pacquiao is a thinking, deliberate puncher who rarely misses. I see This content is protected . I'm going to wind this up by asking myself this question: Okay, Mr. Boxing Man, This content is protected This content is protected . And he might just be the man who will eventually put boxing back in the upper deck of sports." - Bill Gallo 2010
