I have to say I do see it similarly. Though Canelo wasn't getting embarrassed by Khan, it was an even bout at worst and Canelo put on an exhibition of timing and distance maintenance, and I don't see the relevance of how Canelo has performed against backfoot movers. I think he's shown he can handle backfoot movers better than Golovkin, but that's beside the point. The point is that GOLOVKIN'S problem is with movers. Guys who have foot and handspeed, throw in combination, and don't stay in front of him. That of course was Jacobs. And Charlo sticking to a good gameplan might present the same difficulty.

But Canelo is a measured counterpuncher. And a guy whose worst flaw is his slow feet, and who fights at a careful pace with only bursts of activity, when opportunities are there. Those opportunities won't be there for Canelo. No way he can jab with GGG, use his upper body to avoid punches, and counter like he has with recent opponents. GGG with his educated jab, his short punches, and hounding Canelo while cutting off the ring won't be there for Canelo. I think Canelo could have impressive moments and win some rounds, but he'll simply be a much easier target for GGG than GGG's most difficult opponents, like Jacobs and Brook. Is Canelo going to suddenly be sidestepping all night to stay away from GGG's attack?

Canelo will be taking stiff jabs and punishing blows even when he lands occasional counters and a rare 1-2. By halfway GGG will be dishing out a fair beating and Canelo will be pretty clueless. I just don't see how Canelo has the style to win this. And oh yeah he's never fought anyone who punches anywhere near as hard as Golovkin.
