Of course some people did, he had fans, didn't he? Some people would say Golovkin has an iron chin at this point in his career, but does that mean he definitively does have an "iron chin," Cash?

"Iron chin" is a term thrown around far too much, usually by over-excited fanboys, which is why I said it was a typical Max Kellerman exaggerated statement. Chuvalo, Hagler, LaMotta, these kinds of names are the ones rightfully associated with the term "iron chin." I liked Paul Williams, and he had fine punch resistance, but he will always be best remembered as the guy Martinez blasted in two rounds, like it or not.

 

If Williams chin wasn';t iron he would've never lasted 12 rounds the first time with Martinez esp with the punches he was hit with. Same with the Quintana, Margarito and Lara fights.

 

of all of Max's exaggerated comments, this one is the closest to the truth. PW was considered by most to be ironchinned, he was a top notch fighter and it was a one punch KO. I always thought he had a great chin( not iron). PW fights against great punchers and the results of said fights proves his chin was great.

 

wow your trying way to hard to discredit sergio. your point is kind of embarrassing. Everyone who watches boxing knows Paul Williams has an iron chin. Everyone knows this because his defense is horrendous and he got hit with hundreds of flush shots. So yes the only possible way to get hit that much and have defense that bad is to have an iron chin. Next time you try to make up some nosense, at least try to make it some what close to reality so the sheep my believe you, cuz here you are reaching.
