What about Whitaker v Chavez? SRL v Lalonde?

I think Jones Jr v V Hill ended up a catchweight too, though I think that was because Hill missed weight or something.

TECHNICALLY he fought at 138 before Cotto. And at 142 prior to that. :yep

Why did Cotto demand the fight be at 147? Why couldn't he man up and take him on at 140 like Dawson is doing for Ward at 168? One sided perspectives are always convenient

Because Pac was moving up to welterweight anyways.

    Oops I mean 145/143 :patsch

  6. People ( mainly floyd fanboys ) often use the ODLH fight as a catchweight fight, however this is not true it was at WW. Pacquiao's previous fight was against DIaz his only LW fight before moving up 2 divisions. And it was Oscar who picked the fight he had been fighting at JMW only 1 division above WW compared to Pac's 2 divisions lower.
Yes Oscar must of been on drugs to decide to come down in weight and he never prepared weel for the fight hence why he came in at 145 at weigh in.

did he really intended to move-up? it's just that the big names are at WW. but before the oscar fight, it was a one-time deal and pac's team are planning to stay at 140 after the hoya fight.

catchweight on its own is not good or bad. walcot v gans is a good fight and nelson v gans is bad, an example of a catchweight being used to harm 1 fighter. none of this is new
