Everyone already knows why all of Floyd's fights are on PPV, it offers him the highest earning potential. Why does everyone buy Mayweather's PPVs? That's a better question. I feel there are a few different reasons.

The first reason is that some people really like Floyd. He's been around for a while and he's done a great job of marketing himself and building a fan base.

The second reason is that he is a genuinely great fighter. People are always interested in seeing greatness. This guy is still undefeated after almost 19 years as a pro, and possess a skill set that's comparable to some of the greats throughout history.

The third reason is that he's a compelling figure. From the trash talk to constant flaunting of his wealth, Mayweather makes you pay attention to him. This has made him very polarizing. They say the opposite of love is not hate, but rather indifference. Floyd has made sure that not many fans, casual or hardcore, are not indifferent to him. The end result is that Mayweather has built himself up to be the highest earning athlete in sports. Every Mayweather fight is an event. Whether you want him to win or lose, you have to watch.

Because people buy fights wanting to see the greatest fighter ever lose to someone. They buy fights on the hope that "Miguel Cotto will do it" or "Manny Pacquaio will do it"

They don't buy fights to see Floyd, they buy fights to see Floyd lose.
