A southpaw vs an orthodox fighter, they both have the same attributes.

The orthodox has a great straight right, the southpaw has a great straight left, both have great jabs etc.

    Who wins?

southpaw. Too much to handle for the orthodox fighter
    ALTHOUGH
the right hand of the orthodox fighter will be a big factor. If that righ hand is used like kryptonite then i say the orthodox fighter wins

I always found fighting southpaws to be easy. In fact, easier than against a conventional fighter. But others do have trouble.

Generally, the thought is that southpaws are more used to fighting against conventional fighter, so they get the advantage. However, if it's someone who knows how to fight a southpaw, then it won't matter.

I can't believe I am agreeing with this shirt lifter ***** fan....But this I'd the reason that southpaws have the advantage...

It's also a mental state. If u go in the ring thinking oh the southpaws are hard, I am going to have problems, etc u probably will....

Look at ***** jr/sr they are both shut scared of southpaws hence the holiday.

Sounds like Juan Manuel Marquez vs Joel CasaMayor. We know how that went down. But Yeah Casa had more mileage. Great match up

In that scenario, the southpaw wins, unless the orthodox fighter has fought and sparred with many southpaws before.

Everything being equal. The southpaw wins. Has a lot more angles to play with.

One thing people always overlook about southpaws is that their livers are closer.

The southpaw advantage is a myth. It all comes down whether the given fighter have problems with lefties or not. If yes, it's an issue of many that could change a well-balanced fight, if not, it's not an issue at all. Most top fighters are used to fighting southpaws, so I couldn't say one stance beats another.
