I found my dad in the lobby of the MGM drinking with Angel Heredia, Marquez's strength and conditioning coach, on Friday night before Rios vs. Alvarado. They were both pretty buzzed and were getting along laughing and joking. My father was born in Mexico and speaks fluent Spanish. I left them to their devices and I didn't see my Dad again 'til the next morning. At breakfast he told me that they ended up drinking into the AM and Heredia let it spill that Marquez was flying in to see the fight and meet with Bob Arum to discuss future plans. He also said no fifth fight with Pacquiao, at least not right away. Heredia told my pops that negotiations were well underway to make Marquez vs Tim Bradley and Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios, and the winners fighting each other in a mini-welter tourney. I didn't think to much about it until Monday when I read "Bob Arum says no immediate re-match." I find this kind of interesting now. Anyway, thought I'd share, what do you guy's think? About the possibilities, likely winners? I think it's totally feesable both Rios and Pacquiao coming off losses and Bradley and Marquez both coming off the biggest wins of their careers. I think this is how it's going to play out and I pick Pac and Marquez to win both of those fights.

Yeah, that's what I thought was gonna' happen.

    - The winners: JMM vs Bradley
    - The losers: Pac vs Rios
    - The spare pieces on the board: Alvarado vs Provodnikov

I think it might be Allakhverdiev-Alvarado and Vargas-Provodnikov(probably on the same card)

Makes sense. Must have been great to hang with someone so close to camp like that.

This is my favorite arrangement involving those 6 fighters. A bit unfair to Alvarado for Rios to get the pay-day but it makes sense business-wise.

True, but this way, he [Alvarado] can keep hold of the title he's just won. And if he makes a good first defence (which he probably will), then he'll be the prime candidate for one of those winners.

And, I know this may sound harsh, but I reckon he'd have less of a chance than Rios against those guys, any way. That's not to discredit Alvarado, it's just that I feel Rios is stronger and more durable than him.

Hell of a tourney. Let Alvarado get a home defense and some money, then give him a big payday. He's 30 and been in a lot of wars. Not much shelf life on him.

this has been the buzz even before and all indicators have pointed towards this and this makes business sense. so i would believe your story.

This is true. Pacquiao himself is coming off a loss. That last point is true as well, Alvarado can beat Rios, but may not have the tools to compete as well against those better fighters.

After watching Rios lose to Alvarado, how is Rios gonna pose much of a threat to Pac? Pac's hand and foot speed is gonna kill Rios. Rios is also to slow to hit Pac consistently.

This is a horrible, horrible matchup for Rios. Marquez vs Bradley though should be one hell of a fight.

    Rios knocks him out.
    Easily.
    I hope they fight.
    Pac dont want to fight.
    Doesnt want to train.
He knows that he is done.
    No chin.
    No heart.
    No juice to help him.
    He just wants money.
    **** him.
    He is a BUM.

  13. Both very nice fights but I think plans were spoiled as far as Rios goes.

My dad also had a couple of drinks with Memo and he told him he injected the **** out of Marquez body with PEds.
