Would you rather pay money for something which goes to the fighter, or for something which just goes towards someones retirement fund?

I've got 'Cleveley vs Karpency Uncut' leading 'That was March' on my Sky+ by 34 to 30 over the last week,

I think it may have been part of the PPV package.

The opening post does have some merit, it seems like when they have momentum they let it slip away too easily.

They have just had the biggest selling fight ever in Floyd Mayweather - Canelo, they then had a very big show at the copperbox. Plus all the other content it provides its a damn good deal.

Over the next few months we will see £30 go out of our accounts for haye fury and grove froch (which isnt worthy of PPV) on top of our ever increasing sky bill.

£10 a month is a bloody steal for constant boxing on.

Its a very good deal for £10, that cannot be disputed. However Boxnation is a boxing channel and so i dont feel it should be praised for showing certain boxing events, just like Sky sports isnt for showing sport.

If Boxnation had no affiliation with FW then i think a lot more people would be supportive of it.

These threads are becoming tiresome. £10 a month, £10 FFS! Dont subscribe if you cant afford it. lol. At least it will stop the constant moaning. We wouldn't be seeing half these fights had boxnation not existed. We would have to probably pay Primetime £15 for every dam card. Be grateful boxnation channel exists.

But if a channel sells itself as a boxing channel then i dont think its too much to ask they show the main event cards when they take place.

It is tiresome though, but im bored so thought id join in.

The problem isn't about affording it for a lot of people. It's about what is happening with that 10 pound

    The Chavez Jr fight?

For one thing, we don't know what Top Rank wanted for it. BoxNation can't get every event because if they did they would overpay and that would hurt them in the long term. They can't just pay whatever Top Rank wants.

Do you have any facts about what Top Rank want for their UK rights?

BoxNation can't get every fight without (likely) overpaying. If they do that, then it hurts their ability to get fights in the future.

What happens to the 10 pounds?

Some of it goes to their staff.
Some of it goes to German and American boxing promoters for UK TV rights.
Some of it goes to UK boxers (Or their business would fall apart very quickly if no money at all was getting to the boxers -- no one would agree to do their shows.)

And quite possibly some of it will go to F.W. and family. If they put millions in to start up a boxing channel... well good luck to them as long as the channel is properly run.

Is there some other issue you are thinking of?
