True, I don't envy Steele. He was in a tough position that night, but I believe he did the right thing. I would rather live with not knowing "what could of happened" rather than " I let it happened, and because of that a man has to eat through a straw for the rest of his life."
Right and he deserved the chance to get the KO because Mayorga was not on ***** street like Taylor was.
Mosley knocked out Ricardo mayorga in the last SECOND of their fight...imagine if chavez lands even just ONE more punch just like mosley did within the last few seconds...i don't taylor would have suffered a much worse fate.....
Taylor looked impressive in his next title fight, against Aaron Davis @ 147. But the punishment from his fights and the gym, along with Taylor's disadvantages at the higher weight, caught up to him quickly. He was always going to have problems above 140 due to his size/style and the talent level at 147 around that time.
Yeah. People say Taylor was "ruined" but he had a good fight against Aaron Davis and didn't look too bad in his small run until he ran into Norris. He showed problems against Glenwood but still picked up the W. Those wars I heard he was in during sparring didn't help him like you said and good point about the talent pool at 147.
I love how Mexican fight fans need a fighter to be willing to die in the ring for them to respect him, but when it comes to Chavez/Taylor they're all about safety first.
no one here is questioning Taylor's heart. IF ANYTHING this fight proved that Taylor had the heart of a champion, and I speak for all mexicans when i say that WE give him TOTAL respect for keeping up till the final seconds of round 12 with one of the best fighters boxing has ever seen...
here's the bottom line: Chavez won :happy and IF there were any doubts...well...they had a rematch didn't they? :huh oh yea....Chavez won again :hi:
