A thread asking for opinions on WANDERLEI SILVA and CHUCK LIDDELL

Wanderlei Silva is the better all around fighter and dominated pride middleweight division for a long time but it was in japan so not many people notice it.

Chuck dominated the ufc for a while and everybody talked about how his the best fighter in the world aside from fedor. But for me wanderlei had a better career and is a better all around fighter.

 

They are very close overall on both accounts.

I'd probably go with Chuck but one would have to break down their wins and losses and analyze just when they beat certain guys to be sure.

wanderlei was a beast in pride and chuck was a legend in UFC so its pretty hard to compare in terms of the striking wandelei possessed in pride beyond a shred of doubt was awesome hands,knees, and viscous ground and pound with his **** chokes against dan henderson. Chuck liddell had incredible takedown defense and awesome ground and pound however never fought heavyweights with the stand up skills such as mirco cro cop and wrestling abilities such as kazushi sakuraba in my opinion i loved wanderlei's ferociousness back in pride and list him as one of my all time favourite fighters due to his attitude that he did not give a **** who he fought, so with that being said pride wandelei silva was the pinnacle of mma striking.

 

Wanderlei on both Qs... I rank him as the greatest LHW ever & 2nd behind Shogun in terms of ability at their best at LHW.

 

That was a KO, lets not get crazy, Chuck was ****ed, his corner stopped it for a reason, he was being beaten & broken down... that was a stoppage, no doubt.

Chuck Liddell better H2H and career wise.

 

I think Chuck has Wands number. Chuck was a boxer but he had great wrestling and striking in him. He began to use it towards the end of his career but his punch resistance was shot to **** by then.
