    A very sweet pic and nicely colorised also. How many legends can you squeeze into one photo?

    David vs Goliath.

    Very early proof that super sized HWs aren’t all that they’re cracked up to be. I would bet that Bob Fitz could’ve taken that big lug also. What was it again that Bob said about “The bigger they are…”?

    Pedlar Palmer vs Terry McGovern, NY, 1899. To see if Peds really was blinded by the light, contributing to that early KO- and tell a young lad in attendance called Nathaniel that I have this great idea for a monthly boxing magazine and see if he wants 'in' on it.

    Talking of McGovern, I’d have been very interested to have seen his fight/s against Corbett 11 and how a guy who looked like that had beaten him.

    Sullivan v Mitchell. Not because I particularly want to see the short fight but because I want to see the interior of 1800s MSG and thats the best option of the MSG fights I think.

    The reports I’ve seen suggest Palmer was scientifically outclassed throughout the entire round;

    ‘New York World’ report; "The fight was so one-sided that it is almost impossible to see how Palmer, though the best boy in England, ever could have expected to win. McGovern was quicker, stronger, and by far the more intelligent of the two."
