To bad they don't have a deep throat smiley.

And I as well as many others had B-Hop winning including one of the judges, but I'm assuming you wouldn't know that cause you probably didn't watch the fight.

Yes RJJ did lose in his prime by DQ, but I'm sure you didn't watch that fight either. And using PED's doesn't mean it is less likely for him to win.

And Ward might be, but he already has a better resume than Calzaghe and I doubt a slap could shatter it.

It's difficult to say. Back then in Roy's best days I thought that he would have defeated Calzaghe. However, it turned out that he was cheating, plus Joe later defeated him, so I don't know.

As for Ward, I don't think that he could have solved Joe's activity, I could see the fight being similar to Calzaghe vs. Hopkins, with Joe winning an UD.

Jones vs. Ward, again I'm not sure. Judging by how Roy looked back then, I'd lean towards him, but then again, anything could happen.

RJJ, then IDK between Slaps and Board.

The fact is I think Cal gets opportunities to test the chin of the Roy who likes to lay himself on the ropes. But I don't believe Roy will allow Slappy to shrink the measure like that, once he understands the characteristics of Cal's style. A bunch of potshot power-punches and flurries from the outside for Roy UD.

I do however think prime Cal has a much better chance with Ward. Chin and persistent pressure mauling inside between the two, whereas the Roy matchup is bad for Cal stylistically, at least when Roy was still boxing on world level. I don't see Ward being able to stay outside against Cal, and when it's close-quarter boxing the Welshman is on a more even pitch with his opponent. The Bernard Hopkins version of Cal that slaps his windmill punches though, no way. That was embarrassing to watch.

In watching vintage Calzaghe, i saw several shots he took where I myself considered him fortunate it wasn't 168 Roy punching him...

Though the argument can be made that Joe would have been much more cautious against Roy...

In watching prime Roy take punches, I don't recall any that would make me fear for Roy, had Joe been in the ring.

Calzaghe has a proven great chin, but Jones is knocking him out?

Ward has a shaky chin, but Jones is just winning by decision?

i love the logic of ESB's. :patsch

if a prime Joe got in the ring with Jones, it would be smart to fear for Jones. :yep

all it takes is one shot. :deal

Calzaghe was not prime when he beat Hopkins or Jones. There is a reason SOB Ward refuses to fight anywhere except his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, commentators, etc.

Of course, in real world JoeC beat RJJ but don't let that ruin your fantasy tournament.

RJJ and it's not even close. Prime RJJ would be a nightmare for anyone, he blossomed when he worked with Balco.

whatever the outcome all the fights will be tough affairs, none of these guys is going to be a walkover.
