Hatton's WBU fights were more like tune up fights - if Ricky looked in the mirror a bit more he would probably admit this himself.

Anyone could win a WBU belt - why doesn't he put on a couple of stone and become the first lightweight ever to win a world heavyweight title!

Assassin is ready to quit Aberdeen
    America beckons for McAllister
    By Sean Wallace
    Published: 11/06/2008

LEE McAllister today confirmed he will have to turn his back on Aberdeen to gain more title success.
The double weight world champion has not fought outwith the Granite City for two years.

The Aberdeen Assassin’s last away fight was a points win over Billy Smith in Bethnal Green in June 2006.
But WBU lightweight world champ McAllister confirmed he will hit the road to gain more title fame.
“I am looking to get more fights away from home,” he said.
“Two fights a year in Aberdeen is great for my fans, but I want to pack in more bouts over the course of a year.
“If I get two fights a year in Aberdeen, I want two fights away from home as well otherwise it can get a little stale.
“When I first started fighting at pro level, the majority of my fights were down in England.
“I only boxed once in Aberdeen against Jeff Thomas:happy in September 2003 which was my 10th fight.
“The rest of them were in places like Bradford, Leeds, Manchester and London.
“I paid my dues away from home.”

Four of McAllister’s five consecutive fights in Aberdeen were for titles.
The WBU light-welterweight, WBU lightweight, WBF international lightweight and Scottish lightweight were all secured.

But now the 25-year-old could go as far afield as America in search of more world title glory.
“I want more titles over more weights,” he said.
“Ideally I will get a fight in America at some point.
“Getting a big pay day in the States does not bother me, I just want titles.
“If I am offered a decent fight for a decent title I will fight anywhere.”

McAllister has challenged Britain’s top boxers, and been hit by silence.
“I have not heard a whisper back from them,” he said.
“Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton are the ones I want, but I don’t think they will take the chance with me.
“I am the young, new breed of fighter, and far too dangerous for Khan who is pampered and Hatton who is past his best.”

Lee will probably be Khan's next opponent. A big world title fight, I can not wait...

    Lee will probably win.

I'd love to see him go up to 147 and fight for the WBU title there to become a 3 weight World Champion .

    Jennings would destroy him .

Totally unfounded opinion from me - he sounds like a knob.

I hope he gets Khan in his next fight and gets KTFO (even tho he is Scottish).

It's the only ATG Khan will beat anyway. (zing)

Did you really beat his ass Jeff?

Quality. You should be agreeing with the lad in this article really. The classic boost past opponent to make a guy look amazing technique that often does the rounds on this forum. Only he's doing the boosting for you
