A very young Usyk tells Wladimir and Vitali he’ll have to take those belts from them :D

    What a find.

The brothers Klit have their legacy, but they sometimes found ways to lose against guys they should have beat, whereas Usyk finds ways to win against everybody. When the ride is over, Usyk's name will only be spoken with bowed head in hushed, reverential terms.

Wlad didn't lose for 11 years once he hit his straps. He wasn't sometimes finding ways to lose at his best at all.

Wlad is truly the most disrespected champ for what he accomplished. Even for things where he’s objectively unquestionably great he never gets mentioned — like lists of hardest HW punchers.

    Go figure.

But he lost to subpar fighters before that and that does not get erased.

Also, he divided an already weak era with his brother.

That's true but Wlad had a whopping 69 fights against heavyweights. Usyk had had just 7 fights in the open division. There's not much filler in there but the difference in quantity is immense. Wlad has had virtually 10 x the amount of fights there.

It's not that I think you are entirely wrong, but I like the Usyk march to success over the meandering Klitschko road with losses and filler fights. What I don't agree on is that the quality is so greatly different.

Here is Wlad's consensus top ten wins, with the vote tally by the names:

    Byrd I 6
    Haye 6
    Chambers 6
    McCline 5
    Chagaev 5
    Ibragimov 5
    Thompson I 5
    Peter I 5
    Povetkin 5
    Byrd II 4

Now, Usyk's would look something like this....you may rearrange them a bit or have a different name in there towards the end...

    Fury I
    Joshua I
    Dubois
    Briedis
    Fury II
    Joshua II
    Gassiev
    Chisora
    Hunter
    Bellew

Not only do I not see an insurmountable difference, but I thinks Usyk's is manifestly better at the top end.

So I like his quick march with no losses.

Young Usyk, even then there was something about him.

Oh, you're talking P4P. Usyk blows Wlad away P4P by miles, absolutely.

As a heavyweight tho he doesn't have a 10 best wins to put together (yet). He's had just 23 fights in his professional lifetime, granted his cruiserweight fights had very little filler.

Well there’s two main things of exactly WHY Wladimir gets disrespect and I think we both already know what they are. I won’t even mention it here but we know  And to those usual suspects that have tried constantly to keyboard bash Wlad’s accomplishments… they can eat **** or go play in traffic. Wlad’s title reign is the second best in the history of the heavyweight division.

And I’d bet anything if someone wants to put a little work in and HONESTLY tally up the rounds that actually lost during that decade after he demolished Byrd… he lost less rounds than Louis did during his stretch and also Holmes did during his.

I also think Vitali’s comeback is highly underrated too. To comeback after five years away and dominate very game fighters the way he did doesn’t get enough credit. He embarrassed the **** outta the same Peter that outboxed and dropped james toney not too long before.

That is up to you. I think Breidis and Gassiev would have beat a few on Wladdy's list, even at 200 pounds. Perhaps you disagree.

True, but he also held just about every literal advantage over his opponents.
I consider Vlad a legit ATG, but with his tools he’d better be.

Make what you will of the fact that Usyk's best wins span two weight classes.

Make what you will of the fact that Joe Louis lost to three cruiserweights. All three men that beat him were under 200 pounds in the ring.

All of the cruiserweights that Uysk beat were well over 200 pounds on fight night.
