Apparently RJJ was never hit with any solid punches coming up -- its just coincidence when he was 34 and moved down from heavy (pure muscle) to 175 that he gets hit for the first time in his whole career by fighters and his glass jaw, which has never been hit before in a prize fight by punchers and people with decent power, gets exposed -- as he was not weight drained but completely OK, which is evident by him staying on the ropes so much. And this exposing was by, what one poster says, "Tarver, who doesn't have power" (lol) and a featherfisted Glen Johnson. The first time he has ever been hit to the head and chin in all his fights, he was so quick that he never got hit before, ever.

Of course he never got hit much. Roy always fought safety first an used his athletic ability to slip punches. He's got a glass jaw. Rico says so and he's the expert of all things glass.

He never got hit period. Because people with glass jaws never make it to the big leagues. When fighters come up, if they have a glass jaw it will get exposed by Journeymen often, needless to say it is getting exposed to the very least when they first have any title shot (it is often way before this). So RJJ must've never got hit before in any prizefight before he was 34 years old. Not against Hopkins, Toney, Hill, Griffin, Ruiz, etc etc etc etc. This makes him the most amazingly, nearly mythic-like creature to having NEVER been hit in a prizefight, because a glass jaw cracks at punches that are not even that powerful.

Yea Rico has great knowledge on a glass jaw, which is why he says Hamed has a glass jaw. Because only a Glass Jaw could survive a 12 round ass whoopin against Barrera that hits like a mule.

    Yawn.

    Weight-drained, decreased punch-resistance.

    Sums it up.

It was fine in his prime, and before he had to boil off 18lbs of solid muscle and come up against a big puncher.

This debate has been done to death. Jones had a decent chin, Rico talks bollocks.

Yes Lou too. Lou never hit him, because if Lou connected with anything solid, RJJ having a glass jaw would never get up and be wobbling around. Lou KD Virgil Hill, who has a known glass jaw.

According to Rico, Tarver is not a big puncher and doesn't have power.

I was being sarcastic, lol, the Virgil Hill having a glass jaw should've been a give away. Yes Lou hit him with a hell of a shot. Roy got back up, quickly and went on to dominate the fight.

Bumped to discuss the Glass Jaw of this guy who started as Jr Middleweight and took a natural Heavy weight with good power punches.
