No its not, which is why Cortez had to look over at the time keeper to tell him to start the clock the time keeper himself never heard box, and when Cortez instructed him to start the clock Floyd already landed on Ortiz...

That's true Cortez created a ambiguous scenario there which is seen by the body language of the fighters because "let's go" didn't make them 100% look like they were going to fight and with Cortez looking away, if he was so clear on his restart then why not assume everyone else is also?

It's fixed... Ortiz can make it a competitive fight but the way he apologize it's too much plus Cortez not looking after the fighters were in the middle of the ring is suspect... Too many coincidence in a moment to be so called accident.

    It was legal.

It was just a cheap shot and lacked class. That is the issue.

So in your opinion should the rules of boxing be changed to state that if an opponent wants to hug or touch gloves you should not fight?

You make sure the Time keeper started the clock before you allow the action to resume.

The REF has to call "Time In" Then signal the fighter to "BOX"! Cortez was not in control of the situation look at the 2nd round of the Barrera vs Hamed, take a look at how Cortez took control of that situation. His age has caught up with him and needs to retire. You do not take your eyes away from the boxers.

By the way, Mayweathers shot was legal, it's the fact that Cortez did not have control of the situation that confused Ortiz. But still Ortiz should of protected himself or took a knee after the first shot, instead of having his hands down expecting Cortez to do something.

no but the fight should have been PROPERLY resumed by the referee instead of him looking cluless.

Lol @ the idiots defending Floyd by saying 'it was legal, ref had instructed the fight to go on blablabla, thats not the point ! Technically yes it was legal but it's still a ***** move !
How can you excuse him for touching glove and then start punching without even taking a step back to start the round for real ?
