A war that never was: Corrales versus Pacquiao at 130 primes, who wins

    Both did success at this weight and some of their biggest wins here while maintaining a place among the p4p elite

    Pacquaio: beat Barrera, Morales stopped 2x, beat Larios and only lost to Erik Morales at 130, but also was a champion at 112, 122, and 126 in his own right.

    Corrales: beat Joel Casamayor, Roberto Garcia, Derrick Gainer, Angel Manfredy, only lost Casa and Mayweather at 130 and later won the lightweight title beating Freitas and Castillo.

    I have to go with Corrales. He is the taller guy, stronger guy having fought as high as 147 and has the power advantage. Pacquaio as dynamic as he his often depends on his superior strength and sharp punching to win fights but Against a natural lightweight he will have to fight a similar fight like he did against Barrera the 2nd time if he wants to win. Corrales endured 12 hard rounds with huge lightweight Castillo before finally stopping him so I dont think the smaller Pac-Man can do it. He isnt quite the boxer a prime Mayweather or Casamayor was at 130 so Pac-Man will have to mix his style. Both have fast hands but Pacquaio is more explosive. The fight will be at mid range and inclose. I dont see Pac-Man going for a descision win he'd be going for the gusto and in close and id range is Corrales game not to mention he was knocking out world class prime lighttweights and junior lightweights. Corrales wins 11 round stoppage in a thriller where Pac-Man was slightly ahead on 2 score cards

    Great post....Both guys can be hit....and both guys can ****IN HIT!

    So who knows. Ill go with Chico if I had to pick just because of his length and natual size. But again....who knows in this one.

    Corrales by mid rounds KO. He might have trouble with pacman's hand speed at first but he was way too big a puncher at that wieght. There is no way that Pacquiao would be able to take more than 6 rounds of those left hooks which would definatly be landing.

    Pac might give Chico some problems with his in and out patterns in the beginning. Chico was never great at chasing faster boxers around the ring. But...Pac tends to go straight back too and his attack when being attacked approach would be big trouble for him.

    I don't think Chico will have the chance to use that left hook. Pac's straigth Left will land first & will be the beginning of the end for Chico. Chico has Problems with fast guys. He even have a Problem with freitas early in the rounds. Pac is way Faster & Longer than freitas. Chico also has shorter arms than Pac & have a Glass chin. The wrong fight for chico. Pac will end it in the 3rd rd in a Classic war.
