A Welshman needs advice ?

I have a final interview next week and if successful me and my small family could be emigrating down under ! The company will pay ALL relocation costs ALL visa costs and pay for a rented house for 3 months so we can get ourselves sorted ! The Pay is $70,000-$75,000 a year and the job is in Geraldton WA. Just need to know if Geraldton is a good place to live and if the money is good ? I know this should be in the lounge but wasnt sure if many of you looked there ? Thanks

 

Ok thanks mate ! That's the problem I am quite happy where I am but this is my last chance to make the move ? And it is very tempting cause the company are paying all the costs ! And the company is very large so after I become an Aussie Citizen I don't see why I couldn't transfer elsewhere within the company if I didn't like Geraldton ? I get the impression that Geraldton is a bit of a ghost town ????? What is the money like ????

Saying that I have got to get the job first ! Lol

 

And until I get used to the local wildlife I can assure you there will be no camping lol

 

Its all I have thought about mate ! TBH thats why I have asked the question on here as I am seeing alot of things on the web saying that Geraldton is a ghost town ? The risk is massive as me and my wife have ALOT of friends in Swansea but inreality my wife only speaks to them on the phone nowadays as everyone s always busy working/kids etc and when I go up the pub my mates never tend to be out anyway ? The problem with Swansea is obviously the weather ! My kids do activities such as Tennis/football/swimming classes etc ( They are 3 and 5 ) but apart from that they are couped up indoors ! If the job was in or within an hour of a major city like Perth or Brisbane etc I wouldnt even think about it I would be gone. My only concern is what is Geraldton like ? I have checked the web and it looks like all the out of school activities that is on offer in Swansea is also in Geraldton ! And there will be alot of British families emmigrating to Geraldton as the company are taking on quite a few so making friends shouldnt be too difficult !

 

That is my concern , Money doesnt really bother me as I have quite a bit to start with. I will go to the interview and IF I get the job I will have a serious decision to make. Problem I have is there is a company intersted in me in San Diego ( No where near as far advanced as the one in OZ as they are only at the stage of sending me the application form but we have been in contact for the last 4 years and they have seen my Resume etc ) San Diego is somewhere me and the family have ACTUALLY been too and we love it but the MAJOR issue there is trying to get an American green card ! And with San Diego my wife could transfer with her work ( She works for an airline ) so family and friends could visit us for next too nothing but in OZ even though she will have NO restrictions in regards to where she can work she couldnt transfer with her current employer ! ARRGGGHHH
