Hes one of the most humble..sportsmanlike...respectful boxers in the sport.

Whats not to like about him.

    Respects All Fears none.

I can't appreciate anything about a guy who is 6'2, literally drains and exposes his body to make a weight class so he can have a 4+ inch height advantage over his opponents. Runs around saying he is going to beat the champions at 147lbs. This guy was 164lbs last night, and hes fighting against welterweights?

1 - he couldn't beat nor lay a finger on Floyd Mayweather not now and not in a million years from now.
2 - Cotto would have systematically beat the living **** out of him. All Williams throws are slow inaccurate wide completely telegraphed punches that that Cotto would have literally had a field day with countering the hell out of him. Yea styles make fights and Cotto is a compact punching inside machine, he would KILL PW.
3 - His best bet would be Cintron, and **** I always thought he'd get chin checked by the killer pretty easily.

Face is, Paul Williams is a man without a weight division. He won't be fighting at 147lbs much longer. He can fight at 154lbs and not make that much money, I don't see him being Vernon Forrest. And well at 160lbs........The Ghost? KTFO!

I've said this for a long time, If you abuse your body weight draining yourself to have an advantage like that then you're going to shorten your career bigtime. He is destroying his body making 147lbs, He is destroying his muscle fibers to the point in which he lacks muscle coordination explosiveness and speed.

He needs to go WAY up in weight, like something where he can build lots of muscle and power into because he does have a decent chin and if he packed on some weight well then he might be able to take an even harder shot, but moving up to 154lbs won't help him. 160-168lbs is a death walk for anyone to move into.

beh I respect the guy as a person i guess he does seem like a good guy, But i just hate what he does in the sport of boxing. He kills himself to exploit his weight and he tries to present a stylistic nightmare for his opponents instead of just focusing on his own skills and abilities. He couldn't adapt to anything Quintana did in that fight, He did the same **** for 12 rounds and looked horrendous doing it. Thats what happens when you destroy the integrity of your body by being 6'2 and making 147lbs.

Vernon Forrest is a seasoned veteran who is 6 feet tall and is long and lanky himself. The difference is that Forrest has snap and power to his punches, Williams doesn't. I don't know how anyone could favor PW over Forrest right now. He is 26 thats good, He better make the right decision and move way up in weight. And I personally don't like Forrest, But thats just the way it goes. PW isn't going to just walk right into the 154lb division and act like Forrest doesn't exist or act like he doesn't have to fight Forrest. If he goes up to that weight thats pretty much one of his main options, and really that is a hard fight for PW.

PW really needs to go up really high in weight, like 175lbs at that weight ppl will be slower and he will be able to maintain his speed if he builds muscle the right way. Look at his frame its very large and he has a decent chin and hes totally weight drained yet he STILL has a decent chin. Look at his stick legs my god the guy looks like a skeleton from the waist down. He has the potential to put on lots of weight in his legs alone. Look at his record, He started his career at 160lbs and he was knocking people out, Who the **** was the moron that told him he should destroy his body to make 147lbs??? HE should get fired.

I'd like to see this rematch. I like Quintana a lot but it seems like a lot of people are saying he only got by Williams because he wasn't up for this fight/caught him off guard. And that may very well be the case. Williams would be out for revenge in a rematch and bring his best. A rematch would probably be closer but I still think Quintana edges it out and gains even more respect proving that the first fight wasn't a fluke.

I think it was a good fight and i'm happy there's a rematch no complaints from me. Alot of people are saying that Williams has no shot but for all we know he might make the right adjustments in there.

Even if he has little chances its a good fight.

    I agree.
Carlos kicked his ass from ring post to ring post.
    The fight wasnt close.
    Carlos is a welter.
What could possibly force him to fight above his normal weight class.
    He now holds a title.
Isnt he obligated to defend that title.
If the rematch clause says 154 then I can see it.
If thats the case then have the weighin the day of or else Williams will come in a +170.
It sounds that they are trying to stack the deck against Carlos.

    Easily ?????
    Dont think so.
He is King Of the Clubfighters.
    Check his record.
If he goes up in weight, the punches get much harder.
    Paul Williams is all offence.
    Not much of a defence.
If he had it , he would of showed it against Carlos.
