This time last year everyone was beginning to prepare for Froch v Abraham with a lot of people say that Abraham would knock Froch out due to his poor defence. We all know what happened that night in Helsinki but did anyone see it coming? Also what your opinions on both fighters now???
I think the prediction I made for that fight was for Froch to struggle to penetrate Abraham's high guard enough to cause him too much trouble and for Abraham to do his usual trick of coming on strong late to take a pretty routine pts win. I didn't think Abraham by KO due to Froch's strong punch resistance. I didn't think much of Carl's body punching before the fight to be honest so I was pleasantly surprised to see him mixing it up between body and head so effectively. When he said prior to the fight he would use Dirrel's blueprint on how to beat Abraham, I wasn't convinced at all but he did just what he said he would and proved me wrong with his good technical boxing. He for once employed the great jab he has to his advantage by controlling the ditance behind it. Froch impressed me that night and has done a very good job to get himself in the final; after the Dirrell fight, I for one thought he had no chance. Good on him and he has definitely turned me into a fan with his last 3 performances especially
i don't like banging my durm, but **** it,i get every other fight wrong, but this one, spot on. i said froch would beat the **** outa him,AA was made for carl froch, plodding forward, high guard, wide open to any hook in the book, body or head, which,he was hit by,i was just suprised he dident ko him
oh,and the majority in the world thought AA was becoming a elite fighter, not me,no way jose,****,im good.
I also got this fight right! I totally........had no respect for Abraham at Supermiddle Weight, i thought he was a complete moaner, whenever anybody decided to target his body. And because he always had the referee on his side, his opponents where basically reluctant to attack his body. Jermaine Taylor probably would of won their fight, if the referee would of stopped warning him for executing perfectly legal body shots.
I was wrong!!! I felt Froch would walk right into Abraham, and with his lack of defence, get hit too often. But he showed me discipline I'd never seen from him before. Very impressive performance against a limited, but dangerous (even at 168lbs) banger.
